How I Want to Be Remembered
I have always thought about this a lot and this has always shaped the way I live my life and associate with people. I tend to always have the end in mind from the beginning so I am very careful of what I do now so I won't end up having regrets.
I want to be remembered as a life that pointed others toward the greatness God placed within them. Every person carries a purpose, a reason for being here, and I want my life to be a mirror that reflects that truth to them. I want people to say that when they were in my presence, they felt seen, valued, and capable of more than they ever thought possible. This has always been my desire because I want my influence to outlive my physical presence. I want my books to still be on shelves, not as a relic of a past generation, but as a living voice that speaks to people who are searching for clarity, direction, and purpose. I want someone to pick up one of my books twenty years after I am gone, read a line, and feel like I am sitting across from them, cheering them on, telling them, “You can do it. You were made for more.”. Dr. Myles Munroe, my role model, lived this kind of life. Even though he is no longer physically with us, his words remain alive. His teachings awaken leaders, stir dreamers, and challenge minds to think bigger. (up till date)That is the kind of legacy I aspire to not one that fades with time, but one that becomes more valuable with each passing year. I want to be remembered as a blessing in human form. A life that was generous, not only with resources but with encouragement, time, wisdom, and love. I want to be the person who makes others feel lighter just by being there. The one who noticed the quiet, overlooked the flaws, and saw the good in people even when they couldn’t see it themselves.
Like Dr. Munroe once said, “The greatest tragedy in life is not death, but a life without purpose.” I want to spend my remaining years helping others escape that tragedy by discovering and walking in the reason they were created. I have learned from Dr. Myles Munroe that everything God places inside us is meant to be poured out into the world. The books I have not yet written must be written. The speeches I have not yet given must be spoken. The ideas, the lessons, the encouragements they are not meant to be buried with me. I want to give everything away while I have the time.
In the end, I don’t just want to be remembered, I want to be remembered for the right reasons. I want my life to be a gift that keeps giving, a seed that keeps growing, a voice that keeps speaking, and a light that keeps shining. And when I step into eternity, I want to know I left the world a little brighter, and the people in it a little better, because I was here and, may it never be heard that She failed!
I hope this encourages someone there to live life intentionally and focus on fulfilling purpose.
