RE: “Akira”, when a (supposed) dystopia portrays an imminent chaotic (though unknown) future.

I highly recommend the manga. The anime, while it looks beautiful, really does not do that story justice. There's so much more to it all that gets completely overlooked. And the art even in the manga is incredible.
