Contest: dumb win over

****what's the dumbest thing someone has ever tried to win you over?

Well, this is not in a romantic context.
And it happened a few years back but I could still remember ‘cause it was ridiculous and could have put me in trouble 😅.

This happened in my compound.
This couple had a son and most times, this three are always yelling; well the guy always appear shady. Even though it's not nice to judge a book by its cover, you could feel something wrong about him.

This fateful day, once again I was in my room when I could hear yellings from these people. It was a Saturday noon. I was surprised the boy's voice ’cuase he leaves the house every morning and gets back in the evening.
The noise got distracting that I had to step out to intervene. His old mother was yelling at him this time around and doesn't seem to be taking it light with him. Well, she never does.

According to her explanation she said she left some grocery cash on the kitchen cabinet and went to her room to change. At that moment, she heard the boy come in and readying to leave again in not less than a minute.
She instinctively ran to the kitchen and alas! Half the cash were gone and she'd chased after him but the guy claimed not to have taken any money.

At this point, other residents were already out (well, to poke nose and not help).

He wouldn't consent to being searched and wasn't giving a reasonable excuse to prove him right of not taking any money; for someone trying so hard to get everyone to believe him instead. Under the neighbors' scrutinizing eyes, he snatched his shirt from his mother's hands and rushed away.

Well…🙂.

Twenty minutes later, I was seated at the balcony when this guy walked over. With a biscuit and drink.

“I just felt like gifting this to you” he'd said, but I wasn't buying that. If anything, you should be pacifying your mom with the biscuit and drink.

In my mind, I felt he's trying to get someone who would be on his side when he's being gossiped about later.
But seriously, biscuit??
Where did you get the money to buy that?

I'm not ready to be part of the saga but I won't be accepting that at that moment. I had to immediately lie against diarrhea and reject his 'gift'.
