Taking photos on the street becomes an addiction... a very healthy addiction, of course. And one of the reasons for my addiction is having the privilege of wonder. What do I mean by that? That there isn't a single day when I go out for a walk with my camera and don't come across scenes that awaken that blessed emotion in me. Something always appears, always. It's incredible. I suppose it also has to do with my personality; when everything comes together, what happens happens: a rush, as my Spanish friends would say.

When it comes to architecture, Havana's Vedado neighborhood is unbeatable. And when it comes to scenes like these, it's also unmatched.

It had been a long time since I'd seen one of these buses. Seeing it was like opening a door to very fond memories of my student days.

And suddenly, as if that weren't enough... Tweety Bird run over 😂. The street never disappoints.

The interiors of these buildings are truly amazing, in every sense of the word.

Sometimes I try to establish a little dialogue between a sign and the people around it, as if they were agreeing without knowing it.

Other times I get more conceptual, even though it's not my thing... because the truth is, many times I don't even know what I mean myself, and that's okay.

And the lady leaning out of her balcony, coffee in hand, catching up on the latest neighborhood gossip...

Let's never lose our sense of wonder, like children. It brings health, well-being, and joy. And if we can link it to photography, even better.

Esto de hacer fotos en la calle se vuelve un vicio… un vicio muy sano, por supuesto. Y una de las razones de mi adicción es tener el privilegio del asombro. ¿A qué me refiero? A que no hay un solo día en que salga a caminar con la cámara y no me tropiece con escenas que me despierten esa bendita emoción. Siempre aparece algo, siempre. Es increíble. Supongo que también tiene que ver con mi forma de ser; cuando todo se mezcla, pasa lo que pasa: un subidón, como dirían los amigos españoles.

Si hablamos de arquitectura, el Vedado habanero es insuperable. Y si se trata de escenas como estas, tampoco tiene comparación.

Hacía muchísimo tiempo que no veía uno de estos ómnibus. Verlo fue como abrir una puerta a recuerdos muy lindos de mi etapa de estudiante.

Y de pronto, por si fuera poco… Piolín atropellado 😂. La calle nunca decepciona.

Los interiores de estos edificios son realmente asombrosos, en todos los sentidos de la palabra.

A veces intento establecer un pequeño diálogo entre un cartel y las personas que lo rodean, como si se pusieran de acuerdo sin saberlo.

Otras veces me pongo más conceptual, aunque no sea lo mío… porque la verdad, muchas veces ni yo mismo sé qué quiero decir, y está bien así.

Y la señora que se asoma al balcón, café en mano, para ponerse al día con el último chisme del barrio…

Nunca perdamos la capacidad de asombro, como los niños. Eso trae salud, bienestar y alegría. Y si además lo vinculamos a la fotografía, mejor todavía.
