Pelacor Mercenary | Pixel ~ FanArt | Splinterlands Art Contest [Eng - Esp]
Hello, friends! I'm happy to greet you! I hope you are doing well! I am here again, very happy to present my entry in this week's @splinterlands art contest.
This time, I was inspired by a card called Pelacor Mercenary, represented by a bearded, burly, red-haired man with wings, carrying a box that appears to be filled with potions and a chest band with some tools.
¡Hola amigos! ¡Gusto en saludarles! ¡Espero que se encuentren muy bien! Estoy por aquí nuevamente muy contenta de presentarles mi entrada al concurso de arte de @splinterlands de esta semana.
En esta ocasión me he inspirado en una carta llamada Pelacor Mercenary, representada por un hombre barbudo, fortachón y pelirrojo, con alas, quien lleva consigo una caja que al parecer está llena de algunas pociones y una banda en su pecho con algunas herramientas.
Centuries ago, the Pelacor people followed the prophet Edalus to the Mountains of Fire, where they lived hidden and isolated.
They learned to worship Solaki (sun) and Lunaki (moon), gods born from the remains of Edalus' parents and his powerful imagination. These gods were raised to the sky above sacred ground, to be admired eternally.
Every year, on the darkest night, Edalus performed rituals that gave his people angelic wings. This transformation became hereditary.
After Edalus' death, divisions arose: some worshipped Solaki, others Lunaki. This sparked the "War of the Sons and Daughters," a struggle that still persists in some hearts.
When the magical veil fell and the Legions of Chaos invaded, the Pelacor decided to abandon their hiding place and descend to the lowlands to defend their world and their gods, joining the Lowlanders in battle.
Hace siglos, el pueblo Pelacor siguió al profeta Edalus hasta las Montañas de Fuego, donde vivieron ocultos y aislados.
Aprendieron a venerar a Solaki (sol) y Lunaki (luna), dioses nacidos de los restos de los padres de Edalus y su imaginación poderosa. Estos dioses fueron elevados al cielo sobre tierra sagrada, para ser admirados eternamente.
Cada año, en la noche más oscura, Edalus realizaba rituales que otorgaban alas angelicales a su pueblo. Esta transformación se volvió hereditaria.
Tras la muerte de Edalus, surgieron divisiones: unos adoraban a Solaki, otros a Lunaki. Esto desató la “Guerra de los Hijos e Hijas”, una lucha que aún persiste en algunos corazones.
Cuando el velo mágico cayó y las Legiones del Caos invadieron, los Pelacor decidieron abandonar su escondite y descender a las tierras bajas para defender su mundo y sus dioses, uniéndose a los Lowlanders en batalla.

As for my illustration, I have depicted this character in full body, in pixel art style and in a Chibi version, on a 103x103 pixel canvas.
In the sketch, I tried to add all the necessary details representative of the original character, without overloading it with elements that would obscure it. Even so, I managed to create a fairly clean and detailed sketch.
As for the toolbox and potions, I chose to place them on the ground so that they would not obscure the rest of the body, since I would later add the tools he carries on his chest band.
En cuanto a mi ilustración, he representado a este personaje en cuerpo completo, al estilo pixelart y en una versión Chibi, en un lienzo de 103x103 pixeles.
En el boceto he tratado de agregar todos los detalles necesarios representativos del personaje original, sin saturarlo demasiado de elementos que lo opaquen, aún así he logrado crear un boceto bastante limpio y detallado.
Y en cuanto a la caja de herramientas y pociones opté por colarla en el suelo, de modo que no opacara el resto del cuerpo, ya que más adelante le agregaria las herramientas que lleva en la banda de su pecho.
Then I continued with the coloring process, for which I used the original character's color palette as a reference, as usual.
So I started coloring the face, which is the first thing I usually work on, and all the skin, so I added a base color and then added details of shadows and highlights.
Luego seguí con el proceso de coloreado, para el cual tomé de referencia como de costumbre, la paleta de colores del personaje original.
Así que comencé a darle color al rostro, que es lo primero que suelo trabajar y toda la parte de la piel, así que para ello agregué una base de color y luego añadí detalles de sombras y luces.
I painted his eyes a color between honey and yellow and continued coloring his beard and hair, for which I used reddish tones, since our little friend is a redhead, and I even painted his eyebrows that color. 😊
Pinté sus ojos de un color entre miel y amarillo y proseguí con el coloreado de su barba y cabello, para lo cual utilicé tonos rojizos, ya que nuestro amiguito es pelirrojo, e incluso las cejas se las pinté de ese color. 😊
For his shirt, I used green, and for his chest band, brown. Although the original character does not appear in full body, I did not know exactly what color his pants were, so I decided to color them brown, along with a belt that I also made for him.
Para su camisa utilicé verde y para su banda en el pecho marrón, aunque el personaje original no aparece en cuerpo completo, no sabia exactamente de qué color eran sus pantalones, así que decidí colorearlo de color marrón, junto a una correa que también le hice.
I applied pastel colors and some white to the wings, and finally I worked on the potion box, coloring the middle potion green and the other two blue.
En las alas apliqué colores pasteles y algo de blanco y de último trabajé con la caja de pociones, la poción del medio la colores de verde, mientras que a las otras dos la coloree de azul.
At this point, my redhead was almost ready, only his tools on his chest were missing, so I made him two knives. Although in the original image he was carrying a screwdriver, a knife, and a potion, I opted for two knives and a potion. 🤭
En este punto tenía ya casi listo a mí pelirrojo, solo faltaban sus herramientas en el pecho, así que le hice dos cuchillos, aunque en la imagen original portaba un destornillador, un cuchillo y una poción, yo opté por dos cuchillos y una poción. 🤭
I painted the background green, with a darker green box in the middle and some lines around the sides of the box.
I also made a few adjustments to the eyes and a few other details to polish it up, and that's it! Here's the final result. I hope you like it! 🫶
El fondo lo pinté de verde, con un recuadro con un tono verde más oscuro en medio, a parte de unas líneas laterales rodeando este recuadro.
También le hice unos arreglitos en los ojos y una que otra cosita para pulir detalles y listo, aquí les dejo el resultado final ¡Ojalá y les guste! 🫶
