The impact of social media on the mental health of teenagers

How are you all my friends, I am participating in this writing competition today with a very nice topic. I really applaud the community for asking about this topic.

Now when we look around, we see that young children are immersed in their phones day and night. Sometimes they watch videos, sometimes they take pictures, sometimes they see things that are not suitable for their age. All this comes from social networks. In my opinion, it has created some good sides, but it has also created many bad sides.

With the help of social networks, even teenagers can now share their ideas and talents with everyone. Many sing songs, draw pictures, write poems and express them on these platforms. This will help those children a lot in increasing their self-confidence. Moreover, publishing many useful information, educational videos, or social conscience has become easier because of this social media, but it is not as easy as we think, it has its good sides as well as its bad sides.

The worst part is that children are getting addicted to it. Playing games, talking, socializing with friends are slowly disappearing. They think that the number of likes is their identity. Comparing your life with someone else's beautiful pictures or sparkling life is depressing.

Many times, a bad comment can seriously hurt a teenager mentally. Its impact can be so intense that they become lonely, stop talking to their family. Sometimes, the depression can reach so deep that they completely lose confidence.

I think technology may increase in the future, but if we do not help these children and adolescents understand their emotions, thoughts and attitudes, the damage will be even greater.

We want them to be aware, but not in such a way that they are completely disconnected from real life. I want social media to be a place where good things can be learned and known.

If we adults give time, if we talk to them, if we tell them how valuable they are, maybe they will not use social media unnecessarily. Instead, they will find the true colors of life, which are not on the phone screen, but spread around them.

This article is not just for a competition for me, but from my inner thoughts, as an adult, about the future of the little ones. If we all become a little more aware, social media will become a blessing, not a curse.

You see me right here, I'm guilty of all these
We know we're in the jet age where technology and all is taking speed, but ...

Social media comes with both an advantage and a disadvantage, we just have to control how we use and how much time kids around use it.

number of likes is their identity.

This has made a lot of them do stuff they would later regret in the future. It's so disturbing when I see the kind of content this kids upload on their social media handles
