LOH #243: Clayton, Our Beloved Pet Cat

Hello Ladies, nice to greet you again. Hope you are all well. When I read about this week's prompt that will discuss our chosen pets, I thought this was an interesting topic. Because I also happen to have a male cat at home. We named him Clayton. Actually, this is my son's chosen name. At first, we were forced to keep him because every time he came home from school, my son always whined and wanted to keep a cat because he was the only one who didn't have a pet, while his friends at school often told me about their pet cats at home. Children always have something they want.

I adopted him from one of my friends who has a lot of cats at home. Why did I choose a male cat? Actually, this is my son's choice. I've never had a cat before so I don't know whether it's better to have a male or female. LOL. I'm sorry because this is really our first experience. We learned a lot about how to choose good cat food, buy him shampoo and also accessories like a necklace. Unfortunately, the necklace was lost somewhere. Because I think Clayton doesn't really like it. Because I'm a little scared and ticklish when holding a cat. My husband and son always bathe him using a special cat shampoo so that he is protected from naughty fleas. Hahaha

And now our cat is grown up we have kept him for almost 2 years. He is an obedient cat, when I call him Clay he always runs to me. Without realizing it Clayton has become part of our family. He is like my second child. My son always plays with him. Not infrequently he sits with us or sleeps on our laps. He also once dropped my son's toy. Although at first my son was upset. But he still loves Clayton. Oh really he is a very pampered cat.

My son always says that Clayton is like a king in our house. How could he not be? He just eats and lazes around all day. Even as I write this he is casually sitting beside me licking his fur. Slowly my fear of cats is gone because I am always with him now. Maybe I am the one who will cry the loudest if we lose him. We will continue to love him together forever.
