Excellent start to the week #weekend Community

Busy, active weekends or quiet, relaxing weekends:
which do you prefer and why?

I'll start with a quote, whether considered biblical or not, that says that each day has its own challenges. I remember hearing it a few years ago. Perhaps I'd heard it before, but this time it came to me as a learning experience. It was sort of like how I assimilated the daily grind; we're living in times of immediacy, of rushing around, of earning a lot of money, of many things, wanting the day to be productive and able to resolve everything that comes our way every day.

Before, when the weekend came, it was taken up with doing things around the house without thinking about other things. Usually, organizing the home on a weekend is overwhelming. I can say that those past weekends were very busy because graduate classes and other things were coming together.

Now, I feel more relaxed because I'm no longer dependent on others, I'm more for myself. I can say I have quiet and relaxing weekends, as well as busy ones. It can be a holiday or a celebration, or a time of mourning, as this involves family gatherings, visiting friends, and being present. The latter is very emotionally draining.

Every weekend has its own hustle and bustle, as the phrase I started with says. Busy or relaxing depends on how the week has been. Considering that I'm no longer in a hurry, I take my time for each activity I do each weekend. It all depends on the occasion. When they're enjoyable, they're well deserved; when they're meant to be relaxing and quiet, they're also welcome. And when those come along that take us away from all the festive and relaxing, like the one I experienced this weekend following the passing of my mother-in-law, they also have their own value.
