The Cost Of Conflict.

Talking about wars and all of these happenings in our world today, it has only left me heartbroken and sad. A lot of wars has happened in the past, and we all know what it led to. It led to loss of life and properties , it makes us shut our eyes at things and just do stuffs that is uncalled for. And seeing that it still seems we haven't learnt from the past makes me feel more heavy.

A lot of wars have been going on recently, and while all of those are happening what bothers me most are the people/the citizens of such countries and all, I imagine what it is they might be going through. I saw some time ago on the internet how some had to leave their abode and find shelter and protection in the cold. These are people who had roofs over their heads before, but war makes them homeless. During such a situation too, I'm very sure no school will be on, and families who just want to live peacefully become homeless and children who just want to learn had to stop going to school.

And one of the things about war is the fact that those that suffer from it the most are those who know absolutely nothing about how the war came about. And these people are normal citizens. The father who just wants to provide for his family, the mother who just wants to cater for her children and the children who just want to make their parents proud. And when the war comes, it turns their life upside down and changes their plans and directions, not to talk of those who lose their loved ones during such situations.

To be honest, I really do wish and pray that all of these wars and conflicts would just stop. A lot of this war starts out of pride, power struggles and clashes between leaders who refuse to understand on another. If leaders have taken their time to settle things amicably, if they've tried to understand one another and really listen and be patient with one another, I'm sure a lot of these wars would have been avoided.

One of the responsibilities of the government and our leaders is to try as much as possible to promote peace and build good friendships and reputations with both distant and neighbouring countries. If our leaders are doing that then there's no way we would be experiencing this much war. If our leaders should take their time to sit and think things through on how that just one of their decisions can affect the millions of citizens there are meant to serve, then they wouldn't think of going to wars.

Even here, we are having our own wars too, even though we can say it's internal. The fight against all of these various groups (bokoharam, iswaps) and such, not to talk of the ones against bandits, kidnappers and all. Our lives matter, and it's time our leaders realize that. Nations should think more about cooperating and let go of all these acts of destruction. The coming generation shouldn't meet our world the way it is presently, we should try to make sure they meet peace and are groomed in it.
