I love this topic. First off, biggy thanks to the prompt organizers and all those working hands in hand to keep this wonderful community alive. Thanks to the participants as well.

Talking about if I've ever tolerated an abusive behavior from someone close to me due to social pressure. The answer is yes, yes I've had to endure some certain level of abusive behavior from someone close to me. And I want to believe that we all have heard to endure the same at one time or the other from people close to us.

And at such a time, people who are around or we talk about it will only tell us to "ignore it," or "forget about it," and the likes. So, we as well often keep quiet and let it slide, even when it doesn't sit well with us.

I remember how a certain family member of mine often talks to me in a disrespectful way, using both harsh and curse words. It doesn't sit well with me, and when I talk to older family members about it, they keep telling me, "she doesn't mean it that way, that's who she is, it's how she talks, just know it for her." And many more were the things they say. It pained me any time we converse and she talks anyhow, but unkept telling myself it's not worth creating a scene over.

And that's when social pressure comes in, cause I don't want to be seen as being to sensitive or as someone who is not patient or can't tolerate things and allow peace to reign. And the more I keep silent about it, the more it grows and mess with my own peace. Later on, I had to address it, I addressed it when I realized that enduring this won't benefit me in any way, she will only continue doing it and it will continue messing with my mental health and peace.

And the day that I addressed it, I didn't do it out of anger. I spoke calmly and and either clear that I deserve some level of respect and that using curse words don't sit well with me. It wasn't that easy for me to bring it up, but I did, it's necessary.

Now, while writing the above, I couldn't take my mind of the second topic, as it is worth talking about as well. And considering what we all are facing currently, it is important that I talk on a single law that can help the issue of insecurity in my country.

The issue of insecurity in my country (Nigeria), had grown into a big and a very serious problem. Day in day out there are several cases of kidnappings, banditry and various violent attacks. There are some communities in Nigeria at the moment that terrorist has taken over it already. Presently you have to think twice before you can say you want to travel interstate, even within your state. Just recently some people who have been displaced and sent out of their homes and are now at the IDP camps that the government provide for them have again been kidnapped from there.

It is a whole lot, a whole lot of things are happening that talking about it would take so much time. But to be honest, the level of insecurity we are facing is one that has never been recorded before.

Now, if I have the power to create a single lawx it would be one that promotes improved technology based security systems across the country.

This law will entail, support mandate that the government fund the due of modern tools like surveillance cameras, tracking devices and a whole lot more provided for the various security agencies. Also, improved data systems that will help this agencies to identify and track criminals no matter where they are. I doubt if any of the streets in Nigeria has a security camera, we see kidnapping everywhere and there's no way to track this perpetrators of evil. This bandits even go to the extent of showing people they've kidnapped and themselves in the thick forest, yet nothing is being done about it. I believe that such a law would help security agencies eliminate threats. We can see how this technology security system has helped and is helping a lot of countries to fight insecurity and improve their security systems, we can do that too.

In conclusion, I will love to add that this law alien will not stop insecurity. Most important is it's enforcement and implementation. And we need good leaders, cooperation and adequate funding to do that, not this kind of leadership/government that we have that pay ransom to bandits and go on peace talks/deal with them.
