Frost Lion pertenece a la edición Dice de Splinterlands y es una carta común del Splinter de Agua. Con apenas dos puntos de maná, se convierte en un recurso estratégico en batallas de bajo costo. Sus habilidades lo definen: con Shield reduce el daño de ataques cuerpo a cuerpo y a distancia, mientras que con Void Armor obliga a que incluso la magia primero atraviese su armadura antes de afectar su salud. Aunque su vida es limitada, su función es la de un muro inicial que protege a los aliados y gana tiempo en el campo de batalla. En reglas como Armored Up, Melee Mayhem o Super Sneak, el Frost Lion se transforma en un escudo viviente que, pese a su sencillez, puede cambiar el rumbo de una partida.
Frost Lion belongs to the Splinterlands Dice set and is a common card in the Water Splinter set. With a mere two mana points, it becomes a strategic asset in low-cost battles. Its abilities define it: with Shield, it reduces damage from melee and ranged attacks, while with Void Armor, it forces even magic to pass through its armor before affecting its health. Although its health is limited, its role is that of an initial wall that protects allies and buys time on the battlefield. In rules like Armored Up, Melee Mayhem, or Super Sneak, Frost Lion transforms into a living shield that, despite its simplicity, can turn the tide of a game.

❄️ Mi reinterpretación del personaje felino gélido
Cuando vi esta carta con el tigre de colmillos de hielo, su energía me atrapó de inmediato. Me inspiró a crear mi propia versión, no como una copia, sino como una reinterpretación simbólica que reflejara mi estilo y narrativa visual.
Elementos que tomé como base
La silueta felina poderosa: Conservé la estructura muscular y la postura imponente, porque transmite fuerza y dominio.
Los cristales de hielo: Me parecieron un recurso visual muy expresivo. En mi diseño, los transformé en cristales de energía espiritual, más suaves y flotantes, como si fueran parte de su aura.
Los ojos brillantes: En lugar de verde, los hice azul profundo, para conectar con el fondo cósmico y darles un aire más místico que agresivo.
El entorno cavernoso: Lo sustituí por un fondo etéreo, con nebulosas y auroras, para que el personaje se sintiera más como un guardián astral que como un depredador.
🧵 Lo que añadí desde mi estilo
Pelaje multicolor: En vez de tonos fríos y monocromáticos, le di una gama de colores que se funden con el ambiente, como si su cuerpo fuera parte del cosmos.
Ropa ceremonial: Le diseñé una túnica con motivos florales, inspirada en textiles tradicionales. Esto le da un carácter más sabio y ancestral.
Fusión con el fondo: No quise que el personaje estuviera “encima” del fondo, sino que se integrara con él. Usé pinceles de niebla y luz para difuminar los límites entre figura y entorno.

❄️ My reinterpretation of the icy feline character When I saw this card with the ice-fanged tiger, its energy immediately captivated me. It inspired me to create my own version, not as a copy, but as a symbolic reinterpretation that reflects my style and visual storytelling.
Elements I used as a base: The powerful feline silhouette: It retains the muscular structure and imposing posture, because it conveys strength and dominance. The ice crystals: I found them to be a very expressive visual resource. In my design, I transformed them into crystals of spiritual energy, softer and more floating, as if they were part of its aura. The glowing eyes: Instead of green, I made them deep blue, to connect with the cosmic background and give them a more mystical than aggressive air. The cavernous environment: I replaced it with an ethereal background, with nebulae and auroras, so that the character felt more like an astral guardian than a predator. 🧵 What I added from my own style: Multicolored fur: Instead of cool, monochromatic tones, I gave it a range of colors that blend with the environment, as if its body were part of the cosmos. Ceremonial clothing: I designed a tunic with floral motifs, inspired by traditional textiles. This gives it a wiser, more ancient feel. Blend with the background: I didn't want the character to be "on top" of the background, but rather to blend in with it. I used fog and light brushes to blur the boundaries between figure and environment.

Cuando quiero crear una ilustración digital para compartir en mi blog, suelo comenzar abriendo Autodesk SketchBook. Es una herramienta que me permite trabajar con libertad artística y precisión técnica.
Inicio del proyecto
Primero configuro un nuevo lienzo. Elijo el tamaño según el destino: si es para redes sociales, uso algo cuadrado como 1080x1080 px; si es para una entrada de blog, prefiero 1920x1080 px. Me aseguro de que la resolución sea adecuada para mantener la calidad.Ilustración por capas
Empiezo a dibujar usando pinceles personalizados. Me gusta trabajar por capas: una para el fondo, otra para el personaje, y otras para detalles como luces o texturas. Esto me da flexibilidad para editar sin afectar el resto del trabajo.
✍️ My Creative Process from Autodesk SketchBook to Publication When I want to create a digital illustration to share on my blog, I usually start by opening Autodesk SketchBook. It's a tool that allows me to work with artistic freedom and technical precision. 1. Starting the Project First, I set up a new canvas. I choose the size according to its purpose: if it's for social media, I use something square like 1080x1080 px; if it's for a blog post, I prefer 1920x1080 px. I make sure the resolution is adequate to maintain quality. 2. Layered Illustration I start drawing using custom brushes. I like to work in layers: one for the background, another for the character, and others for details like lighting or textures. This gives me the flexibility to edit without affecting the rest of the work.
🎨 Cómo hice el pelaje del personaje
Cuando empecé con el pelaje, lo primero que pensé fue en darle volumen y dirección. Para eso usé distintos pinceles:
Pincel de textura suave: lo utilicé para la base del pelaje, aplicando un color uniforme que sirviera como fondo. Esto me dio la sensación de densidad.
Pincel de cerdas finas: con trazos rápidos y cortos, fui marcando mechones individuales. Aquí jugué con variaciones de opacidad y tamaño para que no se viera plano.
Aerógrafo: lo usé para dar sombras entre capas de pelo, creando profundidad y realismo.
Pincel de detalle (tipo lápiz): con este marqué los reflejos y brillos en las puntas del pelaje, simulando la luz que rebota en cada mechón.
🎨 How I Created the Character's Fur
When I started on the fur, my first thought was to give it volume and direction. For this, I used different brushes:
Soft texture brush: I used this for the base of the fur, applying a uniform color as a background. This gave me a sense of density.
Fine bristle brush: With quick, short strokes, I added individual strands. Here, I played with variations in opacity and size so it wouldn't look flat.
Airbrush: I used this to add shadows between layers of fur, creating depth and realism.
Detail brush (pencil type): With this, I added highlights and shine to the tips of the fur, simulating the light bouncing off each strand.
👘 Cómo diseñé la ropa del personaje
Quería que la vestimenta reflejara elegancia, tradición y un toque místico, así que opté por una túnica ceremonial con patrones florales que evocan lo natural y lo espiritual.
Estructura base de la prenda
Primero delineé la silueta de la túnica con un pincel de borde suave, cuidando que cayera con fluidez sobre el cuerpo del personaje. Usé colores cálidos y contrastantes con el pelaje para que resaltara sin competir con la luminosidad del entorno.Textura y caída
Para simular la tela, trabajé con un pincel de textura granulada en baja opacidad. Esto me permitió sugerir una superficie tejida, como lino o seda. Añadí pliegues sutiles en las zonas de articulación (hombros, codos, cintura) usando un aerógrafo para sombrear con suavidad.Motivos florales
Los patrones florales los dibujé con un pincel fino y opaco, aplicando colores más saturados que el fondo de la túnica. Me inspiré en bordados tradicionales, así que cada flor tiene un contorno claro y detalles internos. Para darles profundidad, añadí luces con un pincel blanco semitransparente.Brillos y reflejos
Como el personaje está rodeado de un ambiente cósmico, quise que la ropa reflejara parte de esa energía. Usé un pincel de luz difusa para añadir reflejos en los bordes de la túnica, especialmente donde la luz del fondo incide directamente.Integración con el personaje
La túnica no solo cubre el cuerpo, sino que se fusiona visualmente con la melena y el entorno. Para lograrlo, difuminé los bordes inferiores con un pincel tipo niebla, haciendo que la tela se disuelva en el ambiente, como si fuera parte del aura del personaje.
👘 How I Designed the Character's Clothing
I wanted the clothing to reflect elegance, tradition, and a touch of mysticism, so I opted for a ceremonial tunic with floral patterns that evoke nature and spirituality.
Basic Garment Structure
First, I outlined the tunic's silhouette with a soft-edged brush, making sure it draped smoothly over the character's body. I used warm, contrasting colors to the fur so it would stand out without competing with the surrounding light.Texture and Drape
To simulate the fabric, I worked with a grainy brush at low opacity. This allowed me to suggest a woven surface, like linen or silk. I added subtle folds in the articulation areas (shoulders, elbows, waist) using an airbrush for soft shading.Floral Motifs
I drew the floral patterns with a fine, opaque brush, applying colors more saturated than the tunic's background. I drew inspiration from traditional embroidery, so each flower has a clear outline and internal details. To give them depth, I added highlights with a semi-transparent white brush.Highlights and Reflections
Since the character is surrounded by a cosmic atmosphere, I wanted the clothing to reflect some of that energy. I used a soft light brush to add highlights to the edges of the robe, especially where the background light hits directly.Integration with the Character
The robe not only covers the body but also visually merges with the hair and the surroundings. To achieve this, I blurred the lower edges with a mist brush, making the fabric dissolve into the environment, as if it were part of the character's aura.

Quería que el fondo transmitiera misticismo, profundidad cósmica y conexión espiritual, así que lo abordé como una extensión del aura del personaje.

Elegí tonos púrpura, azul y rosa, porque evocan calma, misterio y energía celestial. Usé un aerógrafo de baja opacidad para difuminar los colores y crear transiciones suaves entre ellos.Aurora y atmósfera

El fondo no es solo decorativo: lo diseñé para que dialogue con el pelaje y la ropa. Por eso, difuminé los bordes del personaje hacia el fondo, usando pinceles de niebla y luz, creando una fusión entre figura y entorno.
🌌 How I Built the Character's Background
I wanted the background to convey mysticism, cosmic depth, and spiritual connection, so I approached it as an extension of the character's aura.
Color Palette
I chose shades of purple, blue, and pink because they evoke calm, mystery, and celestial energy. I used a low-opacity airbrush to blend the colors and create smooth transitions between them.Aurora and Atmosphere
For the aurora effect, I drew curved lines with a soft light brush, applying gradients that fade toward the edges. This allowed me to simulate movement and a floating energy.Misty Layers and Depth
I added layers of mist with a cloud-like brush, using darker tones for contrast. I highlighted some areas with soft brushes in white or light blue, as if they were stars or suspended particles.Integration with the character
The background isn't just decorative: I designed it to complement the fur and clothing. Therefore, I blurred the character's edges into the background using fog and light brushes, creating a seamless blend between figure and environment.
Este ejercicio fue más que una ilustración: fue una exploración de cómo transformar un personaje masculino y agresivo en una figura femenina, espiritual y elegante, sin perder su esencia felina. Me permitió jugar con texturas, pinceles y narrativa visual, y reafirmar mi estilo como artista: interdisciplinario, sensible y profundamente conectado con lo simbólico.
This exercise was more than just an illustration: it was an exploration of how to transform a masculine and aggressive character into a feminine, spiritual, and elegant figure without losing its feline essence. It allowed me to play with textures, brushstrokes, and visual storytelling, and to reaffirm my style as an artist: interdisciplinary, sensitive, and deeply connected to symbolism.
