Ladies of Hive Community Contest #279

Greetings and blessings, dear Hive Ladies, a happy International Women's Day, welcome to my blog and to my participation in the weekly contest with questions hosted by @elizabethbit.

1- Describe the perfect afternoon for you. Where would it be? What would you be doing? Tell us the details that would make it perfect!
I had been asked this question twenty-six months ago, I probably would have answered that I would be hanging out with my friends, drinking tea or coffee and enjoying a good conversation, or watching a Netflix series. But right now, I can answer without hesitation that my perfect afternoon is in the park, with my sweet and loving granddaughter. She makes my days and my afternoons perfect. I love spending time with her, watching her have fun, swinging her, watching her go up and down the slide, playing hide-and-seek, lifting her up to heights she can't reach, running together, counting steps, helping her up if she falls, and hearing her sweet voice and laughter.

Amaya Victoria is a very active girl; it seems she never runs out of energy. For me, she is my best company. Her laughter fills me with calm, her tenderness, her funny remarks, her hugs fill me with meaning, hope, and strength. It's as if suddenly my rhythm changes and I can do more. That's exactly where I always want to be, laughing and being happy with my beloved girl.

2- Coffee or tea? Tell which one you prefer and how you like your coffee or tea drink prepared.
I love coffee; it's my favorite drink. But I admit that lately I've incorporated hibiscus flower tea, also known as Hibiscus sabdariffa, into my routine. It was recommended to me because I always suffer from stomach upset. I buy my hibiscus flowers at the market, remove the petals, wash them, and place them on a tray to dry in the sun for two or three days, ready for our tea or other beverage.

I prepare it very simply: I bring a cup of water to a boil, then add a tablespoon of hibiscus flowers. I remove it from the heat, cover it, and let it steep for a few seconds. I pour it into a cup, squeeze in a lemon, and don't add sugar, but you can if you like. That's it! I drink my tea warm, and believe me, it's super delicious and refreshing—perfect for enjoying in the afternoons or before bed. Hibiscus flowers are very versatile; they can be used for many things and combined with many spices such as cinnamon, bay leaf, turmeric, star anise, and ginger, among others. I've read that it's an infusion with many health benefits, nutrients, and vitamins.

Thanks for reading, until next time!

It's so lovely to spend time with a grandchild! It sounds like she gives you the energy to keep going! Hibiscus tea sounds interesting; I don't think I've ever had any.

Thank you for sharing and have a lovely day! !LADY
