Promoting health and spreading awareness about healthy lifestyle habits are tasks of the utmost importance. In our country, Venezuela, morbidity and mortality from type II diabetes mellitus have increased considerably, as reflected in statistics mainly associated with unhealthy habits such as high consumption of carbohydrates and high-calorie beverages. En nuestro país, Venezuela, la morbilidad y mortalidad por diabetes mellitus tipo II han aumentado considerablemente, tal como lo reflejan las estadísticas asociadas principalmente a hábitos poco saludables como el alto consumo de carbohidratos y bebidas con alto contenido calórico.
