LOH Contest #237 A plan that did not turn out as expected / Un plan que no salió como esperábamos. (ENG / ESP)

Mother's Day for us this year was a becoming, a passage in uncertainty.
It all starts a few weeks before when my sister, my mom and I ask ourselves the same question we do every year: What are we going to do this year?
My other sister, who is currently living in another country, gives us a lunch every year on this date and following that pattern, we assumed that now it would be the same; so we started planning where we would go this time.
Near our house there was a restaurant where they sold chicken in frying pan and had a gambling area. After the pandemic, like many other establishments, it did not open its doors, the place was neglected and ghostly; when I passed by there I always wondered what would happen to the owners? I remembered Sundays when I didn't want to cook and went down to buy the soup they sold, very good by the way.
This year they began to remodel the place, I was intrigued to know if it would be a restaurant or another type of business, it was taking shape and each time it looked more interesting and elegant at the same time. Until the opening day came, it was the same restaurant, with its traditional menu of grilled chicken, arepas, cachapas, soups and something more. With a modern and cozy concept, nothing like the traditional restaurant La Rambla.
We decided to go there to eat, I went and found out the schedules, if we had to make a reservation for Mother's Day and my sister @yamilar04 checked their social networks @ramblaccs (IG), we saw the menu to take away planned that we would eat and how much would be the amount of money that would leave the output.
As the days went by and my sister, who is outside Venezuela, did not speak out, we began to ask each other if we knew anything... Did she call you? Did she tell you anything? And the answers were... he hasn't told me anything... he hasn't told me either.
Currently some Venezuelan immigrants are going through difficult situations in general and we know that even if my sister and brother-in-law don't say it openly, it is affecting them. So we decided not to touch the subject and we decided to solve it ourselves according to our economic possibilities.
We looked for other options and prices, but to be honest, we were a bit discouraged and decided to buy take-out and eat it at home.
We decided to go for the Chinese Fried Rice from a restaurant not so far from home, which my brother-in-law found through social networks. It is in the urbanization La California and it is called Dorado Wok Caracas @dorado.wok (IG), they went to buy it while I went to the supermarket to buy soft drinks and to the bakery to buy some golfeados, sweet Venezuelan for dessert.
We bought 2 of the Mother's Day Special Promotion, which includes 2 economic combos for $16 each. The fried rice, sweet and sour chicken, special chopsuey with shrimp and lumpias were very good, they opened two months ago so they have good proposals.
We had lunch, exchanged gifts, listened to music, talked and had a great time even though it was not what we had planned.
You may wonder... and what happened with your other sister? Well, she saw the pictures we posted in the family group and she told us how nice it was that you had a good time. We still congratulated each other without touching the subject.

El día de las madres para nosotras este año fue un devenir, un transcurrir en incertidumbre.
Todo comienza unas semanas antes cuando mi hermana, mi mama y yo nos hacemos la pregunta de todos los años: ¿Qué vamos a hacer este año?
Mi otra hermana, que actualmente está viviendo en otro país, nos regala un almuerzo todos los años en esta fecha y siguiendo ese patrón, dimos por sentado que ahora sería igual; así que comenzamos planear donde iríamos esta vez.
Cerca de casa había un restaurant donde vendían pollo en braza y tenían un espacio de juegos de azar. Luego de la pandemia, como muchos otros establecimientos, no abrió sus puertas, el lugar estaba descuidado y fantasmal; cuando pasaba por allí siempre me preguntaba ¿qué pasaría con los dueños? Recordaba los domingos cuando no quería cocinar y bajaba a comprar la sopa que vendían, muy buena por cierto.
Este año comenzaron a remodelar el lugar, me intrigaba conocer si sería un restaurant u otro tipo de negocio, este fue tomando forma y cada vez se veía más interesante y elegante a la vez. Hasta que llego el día de su inauguración, era el mismo restaurant, con su tradicional menú de pollo en brasa, arepas, cachapas, sopas y algo más. Con un concepto moderno y acogedor, nada parecido al tradicional restaurant La Rambla.
Decidimos ir a comer allá, yo fui y averigüe los horarios, si teníamos que hacer reservación para el día de las madres y mi hermana @yamilar04 reviso sus redes sociales @ramblaccs (IG), vimos el menú para llevar planificado que comeríamos y cuanto seria la cantidad de dinero que saldría la salida.
Fueron pasando los días y mi hermana, que esta fuera de Venezuela, no se manifestaba, comenzamos a preguntarnos unas con otras si sabíamos algo… ¿Te llamo? ¿Te ha dicho algo? Y las respuestas fueron… no me ha dicho nada… a mí tampoco.
Actualmente algunos inmigrantes venezolanos están pasando por situaciones difíciles a nivel general y sabemos que aun cuando mi hermana y mi cuñado no lo manifiestan abiertamente, eso les está afectando. Así que decidimos no tocar el tema y resolver nosotras según nuestras posibilidades económicas.
Buscamos otras opciones y precios, sin embargo les soy sincera, estábamos algo desmotivadas y decidimos comprar la comida para llevar y comerlo en casa.
Nos decidimos por el Arroz Frito Chino de un restaurant no tan lejos de casa, que encontró mi cuñado por las redes sociales. Queda en la urbanización La California y se llama Dorado Wok Caracas @dorado.wok (IG), ellos fueron a comprarlo mientras yo iba al supermercado a comprar los refrescos y a la panadería a comprar unos golfeados, dulce venezolano para el postre.
Compramos 2 de la Promoción Especial Día de las Madres, que incluye 2 combos económicos cada uno por 16$. Estaba muy bueno el arroz frito, el pollo agridulce, el chopsuey especial con camarones y las lumpias, su inauguración fue hace dos meses por eso tienen buenas propuestas.
Almorzamos, hicimos nuestro intercambio de regalos, escuchamos música, conversamos y la pasamos rico aun cuando no fue lo que habíamos planificado.
Se preguntaran… y ¿Qué paso con tu otra hermana? Pues nada, vio las fotos que publicamos en el grupo de la familia y nos puso qué bueno que la pasaron bien. Igual nos felicitamos mutuamente sin tocar el tema.
