Greetings, dear hive. I hope you have wonderful family celebrations this holiday season.
2025 was a year full of challenges, extraordinary experiences, personal and professional growth, and a few moments where situations threatened to make us give up, but we rose stronger than ever, becoming resilient and enterprising individuals.
Of course, I have many plans and goals for 2026. The main ones to highlight are the following: achieving my first professional certification in my Literature and Language degree. I hadn't done it before because I needed to complete a certain number of years of work; now that I have, I want to begin this growth in the world of education. Another goal I've set for the new year is to save money to make some improvements to my house, which definitely needs them, so I can keep my home beautiful and welcoming. And finally, I'll tell you about a plan I've made since becoming a mother, which is to give my son a nice party on each birthday, even if it's not the best, to make him feel special on that day, because that's what it is for our lives and the people who love him. And so, I will continue to meet each challenge that each day brings. I am certain that new goals and dreams will appear along the way, and I hope to have the health and physical and mental strength to achieve everything I set my mind to.
Answering the second question, I'll tell you that Cubans have countless customs, traditions, and rituals to leave all the bad vibes behind and ask for a prosperous new year.
In my family, it's customar y to throw a bucket of water right when the clock strikes twelve. Everyone in the house puts their hands in the water and asks for good health, love, peace, tranquility, and prosperity. Then, the eldest person in the household—in this case, my mother—throws it out the door with force so that all the bad things leave and allow the good things mentioned earlier to enter. Oh, and we can't forget walking around the block, as we say in Cuba, with a suitcase to attract travel and new opportunities.
With that, I'll say goodbye. I loved sharing some of my future plans and family traditions with you during the month of December.

El 2025 fue un año lleno de retos, extraordinarias vivencias, superaciones personales y laborales y uno que otro momento donde las situaciones que se presentan amenazan con rendirnos, pero nos hemos levantado más fuerte que nunca, convirtiéndonos en personas resilientes y emprendedoras.
Por supuesto que para el 2026 tengo muchos planes y metas a cumplir, las principales a destacar son las siguientes: lograr mi primera categorización en la licenciatura que realicé de Literatura y Lengua, no la había hecho antes porque debía cumplir cierta cantidad de años laborales, ya cumplidos quiero dar inicio a este crecimiento en el mundo de la educación. Otra meta que me propuse para el nuevo año es ahorrar para darle algunos retoquitos a mi casita que ya los necesita y así mantener bien lindo y acogedor mi hogar. Y por último te contaré acerca de un plan que me he trazado desde que soy mamá y es regalarle a mi hijo una linda fiesta en cada cumpleaños, aunque no sea la mejor, hacer que se sienta ese día especial, porque así lo es para nuestras vidas y las personas que lo amamos. Y así ir cumpliendo cada reto que me vaya preparando el día a día, segura estoy en el camino aparecerán nuevas metas y sueños por cumplir, espero tener salud y fortaleza física y mental para lograr todo lo que me proponga.
Dando respuesta a la segunda interrogante te contaré que el cubano tiene un sinfín de costumbres, tradiciones y rituales para dejar todas las malas vibras atrás y pedir por un nuevo año con mucha prosperidad.
En mi familia es costumbre lanzar un cubo de agua justo cuando el reloj marca las doce, todos los integrantes de la casa sumergimos las manos en el agua y pedimos mucha salud, amor, paz, tranquilidad y prosperidad, y luego la persona mayor del hogar en este caso mi mamá lo lanza bien fuerte fuera de la casa para que todo lo malo salga y permita la entrada de las cosas buenas expresas anteriormente, ah y no puede faltar la vuelta por toda la manzana, como decimos en Cuba, con una maleta para atraer los viajes y las nuevas oportunidades.
Sin más me despido, me encantó compartir con ustedes parte de mis planes futuros y mis costumbres familiares en el mes de diciembre.

I find traditions fascinating, whether you believe in them or not. It was interesting to hear some of the Cuban ones. We don't really have that many in Jamaica that I'm aware of. :)
