Watching Others Shine Where I Once Stood: My Teacher's Nite Role Revearsal

Good day hivers , this is your @mariajasmin. In this blog , I will share the happenings of my day at this special event, which is the teacher's nite. You'll know the whole story by reading this until the end. Teacher's Nite is an annual event , a tradition that is celebrated to give honor and express our deepest gratitude to our incredible teachers. It is to show a heartfelt expression of our profound appreciation for their unwavering support , tireless help , and the invaluable lessons they have shared with us. This special event allows us to reflect on the positive impact teachers have made , acknowledging their dedication to shaping future generations.

Before heading to the event venue, I needed to find my three siblings to give them their dinner. It was exhausting trying to find them. Since the event was in the evening, we decided that they would stay at school, and I would bring dinner to save on fare, as I was also attending the event. But, when I started searching, it was difficult because I didn't know if they were at the complex or at school. I could only contact my senior high school sibling by phone, but each time I went to her location, she had already left, so I had to search again. My two elementary school siblings didn't have gadgets to provide updates, so I kept going back and forth trying to find them.

When we met, we went straight inside the complex so they could eat there. Niño also bought soft drinks and bread outside. I thought he only bought the small soft drinks, but it turned out he bought the big ones.

The designs inside are incredibly impressive. Everything was really prepared, including the tables and chairs , flowers for the candidates, the entrance, the photo booth, decorations on the stage, and more.

After a few minutes, It was crowded by a lot of people. As the program began, everyone gathered inside to witness the show. Even at the gate, there were so many people watching. One of the SSLG officer was also taking pictures. I'm not used to having my picture taken because I don't think I'm photogenic , and I never know how to smile naturally on cameras when someone else is taking the photo , unless it's a selfie or I'm with someone I'm comfortable with. Still, I couldn't help but smile when the camera was pointed our way , especially since the people next to me were eager to take pictures.

The time has come when I am very sleepy. It has been a long time since it started and there are still so many people who will dance, since elementary students and high school students celebrated it. Even though I am sleepy, it is fascinating to watch the candidates especially those in the lower grades when they go up to the stage. Even when they dance, they are very competitive, they are so cute. Each grade level showed their dances in different categories, the speakers also did their speech, pinning of sashes, and the teachers both elementary and secondary also showed their dancing skills which pleased the audience.

There are also times when I want to take a selfie and find the best angle that suits me better.

It was already 10 o'clock at night and only half of them performed. The secondary students also showed their dancing skills. I can't go home yet because my senior high sister hasn't danced yet so I really have to fight sleepiness. When the other people went home, Niño arrived where we were sitting. He was late because he went home to eat, and by the time he returned , the crowd had grown. I hadn't saved a seat for him because he told me earlier that he might not be able to come back. However, when the audience became lesser, he joined us since there was space.

The secondary students showed their different categories in dances, including Retro Dance, Cheer Dance, Sanggi Dance, Hiphop Dance, etc. Finally, after more than an hour of waiting, their dance was finally over. And for the last show, the contestants danced in the middle. The contestants then took to the floor , ready for their moment to shine. The kids were incredibly talented, dancing with confidence and enjoyment. After all, we started packing since we had a lot of things with us at that time. Then we decided to go home.

As I went home, everything reflected on me. When the children danced, I missed being a student, I also remembered that we were one of the ones who performed back then, which was also very unforgettable. While I also saw the teachers, I missed them a lot. I am very thankful for what they taught me, they also served as a path for our growth and improvement. I left with a sense of so much gratitude, my heart overflowing with appreciation, and I'm forever grateful.
