A big hello to the whole community! I hope you're all well, healthy, and full of enthusiasm, and that this week hunt some great shadows.

Every time I go out, I keep my "antennae" on high alert, ready to spot any unusual shadows worth hunting.

I almost always drive along Bolivar Avenue or Lisandro Hernández Avenue in Villa de Cura, Aragua State, Venezuela.

Today, due to some unforeseen circumstances that aren't relevant to this post, I was walking along Paradisi Avenue when I noticed the shadow that's featured on the cover and which I'm using for this week's contest.

That shadow really seemed to be embracing the car! I took the picture immediately and then took others as complements. I was unsure which one to put first, but then I decided on the shadow that "embraces" the car, even though the image of the car partially obscures the shadow.

Nuestras "ramas" externas terminan manifestando nuestra vivencias internas.

Looking at the images, I was reminded of the phrase—I'm not sure if it's philosophical or metaphysical—"as above, so below," because the shadows are from the branches, but they look like roots.

It's curious, as if we had Superman's X-ray vision and were observing the intricate subterranean network of roots.

The hidden roots seem to be exposed by the visible branches. And I find in this an allegory for our lives.

It turns out that our thoughts, feelings, and emotions, however hidden we keep them, always come to light. They surface with a word, an attitude, a gesture, a simple glance. Our external "branches" end up revealing our internal experiences.

Our "shadows" always end up coming to light.

It would also be interesting to ask ourselves, how intricate are our shadows? Are they as complicated and tangled as the winding roots of trees? Can we simplify them a little? Or a lot? Are we calm people, or are we the kind who are always "looking for trouble," as my grandmother used to say?

My native language is Spanish, so I wrote this story in Spanish first and then translated it into English with Google's Free Translator.
