A ghostly tale of the high seas. This one has a personal touch in which a family mystery is finally put to rest. I enjoyed the imagery evoked by the narrator's voice like in the following paragraph:
The two men entered the cave, and terrifying darkness enveloped them. Blackbeard lit a lamp that revealed the dampness and sinister nature of the place. As the pirate rowed, they could feel the fear in their bodies along with the sound of the drops falling into the water.
It's a descriptive and precise paragraph that sets up the suspenseful atmosphere. It's great how you let the minute details of the scene create the mood that makes the story come alive.
