I recycle, restore and transform a damaged fish tank (ENG/ESP)
Happy week to all Hivers in this beloved community of artists. I hope you are all doing well.
Today I'm sharing my recycling and restoration project of a fish tank that I refused to throw away because I always knew I could do something more creative with it. So today I was inspired to make a decoration where I could restore and decorate this fish tank to continue enjoying it, with other uses. One of the things that inspired me was my first participation with a candle holder, which was also made of glass, so for this new idea, I thought I could combine it to hold dried flowers, scented candles, or other uses where water is not necessary to avoid spills and damage to this beautiful decoration.

Hoy les comparto mi trabajo de reciclaje y restauración de una pecera que me negué a botar en la basura, porque siempre supe que podía hacer algo más creativo con ella, así que hoy tuve la inspiración de hacer una decoración donde pude restaurar y decorar esta pecera para seguir disfrutando de ella, con otros usos y uno de ellos en el que me inspire fue con mi primera participación con una porta velas, que fue con parte vidrio también, así que para esta nueva idea puedo pensé que puedo combinarlo para colocar flores deshidratadas, velas aromáticas, u otro uso donde no sea necesario usar agua para evitar derrames y daños a esta linda decoración.

Using recycled tools and materials that are easy to find at home, I did my work for the day.
- Egg cartons
- Scraps of yellow foam
- Silicone
- Cold paints
- Pencil, scissors, paintbrush
- Twine
- Hot glue gun
- Glitter
- Enamel glitter.
I started by breaking the carton into several pieces with my hands to separate the parts, then I made uneven cuts with the scissors.
Con las herramientas y materiales reciclados, fáciles de conseguir en casa, realice mi trabajo del día.

Then, using a little hot silicone, I glued the broken part of the glass back onto the fish tank.
I immediately began to glue the pieces of cardboard in three sections, leaving spaces uncovered for the rest of the decoration. This step was also key to covering the broken side, and I glued a piece of rope to the top of the fish tank as a decorative element.
Luego con un poco de silicona caliente pegue la parte del vidrio que se había quebrado en la pecera.
Enseguida comencé a pegar los trozos de cartón, en tres secciones, dejando espacios descubiertos para el resto de la decoración, y además este paso fue clave cubrir el lado que tenía roto, y en la parte superior de la pecera pegue una cuerda de mecate como parte decorativa.

The next step was to add white paint to the spaces decorated with cardboard.
While the paint was drying, I began to cut out several petals from the remaining cardboard, which has a characteristic petal shape that, when cut, produces well-defined petals, ideal for many floral ideas, such as making daisy-style flowers. I also cut out some leaves and stems from the same recycled egg cartons. The next step was to color them with a brush and cold paints to embellish these petals to form flowers.
Lo siguiente fue agregar pintura blanca a los espacios decorados con cartón.
Mientras dejaba secar la pintura, comencé a cortar varios, pétalos con parte del cartón restante, ese que trae una forma característica de pétalos, que al cortarlos quedan unos pétalos definidos, ideales para muchas ideas florales, como para hacer unas flores estilo margaritas, también corte unas hojas y tallos con el mismo reciclaje de cartón de huevos, lo siguiente fue darle color con un pincel y pinturas al frío para embellecer estos, pétalos para formar flores.

To continue, I used the yellow foam cutouts and made circular cuts for the center of the flowers. In addition to painting the petals, I also added a little sparkle with glitter and a little clear enamel.
Para continuar usé los recortes de foami amarillo e hice unos cortes circulares para el centro de las flores, adicional al proceso de pintura de los pétalos también le di un poco de brillo con escarcha y un poco de esmalte transparente.

To decorate the spaces left free of cardboard mosaic, I formed flowers with 2, 3, and 5 petals, glued them with hot silicone, and decorated them with yellow centers, leaves, and dry branches that I made with cardboard strips.

Para decorar los espacios que deje libres de mosaico de cartón, fui formando flores de 2, 3, y 5 pétalos, los mismos pegue con la silicona caliente, decore con centros amarillos, hojas y ramas secar que hice con cintas de cartón.
