Cada año, en La Marina Hemingway, en Cuba, se celebra el Torneo Internacional de la Pesca de la Aguja y recién hace una semana se efectuó (Del 9 al 14 de junio). Este prestigioso evento es auspiciado por el Club Náutico Internacional Ernesto Hemingway, una institución no gubernamental, sin fines de lucro, que tiene entre sus propósitos, fortalecer la imagen náutica de Cuba y cuenta con afiliados de diferentes partes del mundo.

En su interior, el club nos muestra el sin fin de reconocimientos que ha obtenido desde su inauguración.

En sus paredes, podemos ver fotografías de momentos transcendentales como el de la llegada de Diana Nyad el 2 de septiembre de 2013, nadadora norteamericana que a sus 64 años cruzó, sin jauja protectora contra tiburones, el estrecho de la florida hasta llegar a la Marina Hemingway (Cuba), una Azaña que solo ella ha logrado.

Por unos diez años, he sido testigo y participado en los preparativos del torneo y veo como ha disminuido, de forma gradual, el número de participantes debido a restricciones internacionales.

Este es uno de los encuentros de pesca deportiva más emblemáticos del Caribe y es el más antiguo de su naturaleza en el mundo.

Inspirado en el escritor Ernest Hemingway Premio Nobel de Literatura, quien promovió la pesca deportiva en Cuba durante su residencia en el país.
La inauguración incluyó un cóctel de bienvenida con espectáculo tradicional.

Durante la competencia, las embarcaciones fondean en los canales a la espera de la atractiva y emocionante aventura.

Se utiliza la técnica de"captura y libera", respetando las normas Internationales vigentes.
De acuerdo a la tradición, el principal objetivo es la aguja azul, pero también se incluyen dorados y otros.

Son días donde reina el espíritu de equipo y compañerismo.
En esta ocasión participaron países como Sudáfrica, Italia Francia, Alemania, Noruega, Estados Unidos, España, Chile, Bulgaria, Letonia y Cuba, por supuesto.

Se premia con galardones y medallas y trofeos colectivos, a los integrantes de los tres primeros equipos.

También se dan reconocimientos especiales a la Primera captura del torneo; Mayor dorado capturado; Pescador más joven. Los ganadores de esta 73 edición fueron, en primer lugar España, segundo Italia y tercero Noruega.
Para mí es un honor y un privilegio ser parte de la organización de este importante suceso aportando mi granito de arena. En la cena de despedida hubo risas, alegría y la promesa de un nuevo encuentro.

El Torneo Internacional de la Pesca de la Aguja, es un evento que fomenta las relaciones fraternales, la solidaridad y combina tradición, deporte y pasión por el mar.

Welcome to my Hive home. Warm greetings to the members of this community and fellow hivers visiting my blog. ✨

Every year, the International Billfish Fishing Tournament is held at Hemingway Marina in Cuba, having just taken place a week ago (June 9th to 14th). This prestigious event is sponsored by the Ernesto Hemingway International Nautical Club, a non-governmental, non-profit institution whose purposes include strengthening Cuba's nautical image and which has members from different parts of the world.

Inside the club, it showcases the countless accolades it has received since its inauguration.

On its walls, we can see photographs of pivotal moments, such as the arrival of Diana Nyad on September 2, 2013. This American swimmer, at 64 years old, crossed the Florida Straits without a shark cage to reach Hemingway Marina (Cuba), a feat achieved only by her.

For about ten years, I have witnessed and participated in the tournament's preparations and have seen how the number of participants has gradually decreased due to international restrictions.

This is one of the most emblematic sport fishing events in the Caribbean and is the oldest of its kind in the world.

It is inspired by the writer Ernest Hemingway, Nobel Prize Laureate in Literature, who promoted sport fishing in Cuba during his residence in the country.

The inauguration included a welcome cocktail with a traditional show.

During the competition, the boats anchor in the canals, awaiting the attractive and exciting adventure.

The "catch and release" technique is used, adhering to current international standards.

According to tradition, the primary target is the blue marlin, but dorado (mahi-mahi) and others are also included.

These are days when the spirit of teamwork and camaraderie reigns supreme.

This time, participating countries included South Africa, Italy, France, Germany, Norway, the United States, Spain, Chile, Bulgaria, Latvia, and Cuba, of course.

Awards, medals, and collective trophies are given to the members of the top three teams.

Special recognitions are also awarded for: First Catch of the Tournament; Largest Dorado Caught; Youngest Angler. The winners of this 73rd edition were: first place Spain, second place Italy, and third place Norway.

For me, it is an honor and a privilege to be part of the organization of this important event, contributing my grain of sand. At the farewell dinner, there were laughs, joy, and the promise of a new gathering.

The International Billfish Fishing Tournament is an event that fosters fraternal relations, solidarity, and combines tradition, sport, and passion for the sea.
