Anime Review ~ The Glassworker~ When love is as clear as glass.
Hope everyone is well. I started my anime journey with a Pakistani anime movie. Today I am very excited to review this anime with you. I will share all the things I liked and disliked about this anime. Since this is my first time watching any anime, I am very excited right now. So I will discuss my excitement with you. What did I learn from watching it, which aspect did I like in full detail today.
The anime is hand-drawn by Mano Animation Studio and directed by Usman Riaz. It features a peaceful watercolor environment, flowing movements of the characters, and natural sound effects.
Story Summary
"The Glassworker" is a heartwarming story that is a beautiful love story between two young people. Vincent works in his father's shop. While working in the glass shop, his skill with glass becomes very high. Meanwhile, Alize is the daughter of an army officer. Her life was confined to strict restrictions. She had no personal freedom.
Although it is a cliché, the two first met in the glass shop where Vincent works. Alize came to see the glass pieces. Then their conversation started. They became very good friends. At one stage of their friendship, they fell in love. But when the city was attacked by war, it created the biggest crisis in their lives. The war also challenged their relationship along with the city.
The anime highlights the important form of human relationships under the pressure of love and social order. Vincent and Alize's relationship is as transparent as glass, but fragile.
My Review
The Glassworker is an anime that has moved my heart. Here it takes us from reality to the world of fantasy which is very close to our feelings. Which can be felt with the heart. Since it is set in the context of Pakistan, war is associated with this anime. Because war continues in Pakistan. One thing I noticed here. On the one hand, the beauty of art is highlighted, on the other hand, a tender love story is highlighted in the midst of war which is truly unique.
The protagonist of this story is a teenager named Vincent. Who works in his father's glass making shop. He is a very calm boy. From that shop, he has a relationship with a girl named Alize. Because Alize came to that shop to look at glass pieces. At first, the relationship was a friendship, later it turned into love. One thing I noticed while watching the anime was that their relationship reached a very beautiful understanding.
But everything turned upside down when the war in Pakistan started. I realized from here that not only love but also in some cases personal freedom and creativity become a struggle for existence.
Finally, I can say that The Glassworker anime reminds us that peace, art, and love are very important for us to know.
