THAT ONE HIVE TOOL

To be honest, I am kinda old school, and thus I do not know about lots of the tools on the hive blockchain. When I first saw the prompts about tools, I was like; interesting, but what on earth are hive tools… After going through the post by @bhattg on some of the hive tools made by @sagarkothari88 I discovered that there is indeed a lot to know about the hive platform despite being here for over four years now. Also, these are tools I have come across under different circumstances, and although I do not know them as tools, I never even had a name for them in the first place but I also knew I couldn’t call them frontends because they didn’t really function like your conventional frontend. Now I know they fall under the tools category as they meet a specific need in the hive blockchain.

The tool I use the most is the Hive stats, I use it especially when I am pitching the idea of hive to a newbie and showing them my hive dashboard with the mouthwashing benefits I have been privileged to enjoy. They could also see my weekly, monthly and lifetime earnings which makes 50% of them interested. I guess you can say that’s the job of a sales man, I just let them know that if I can make it, so can they and so far it’s been working. However I also use it myself in tracking my weekly and monthly earnings to know if I did better or less than the previous month. The fact that I can also see how my auto votes and curation trial votes are being used make me understand the platform better.

I do not really use some of the other tools as I am completely okay being old school with one frontend and doing whatever I want to do there. I guess it’s because I use a PC and all the frontends I use are connected to my keychain extension on chrome so I could open any tab I wish to and bookmark them. If I want to reply I just reply from whichever I can get my hands on. But in using hive stats, I have come to see that despite it giving stats of all our activities on the hive blockchain, the reputation part is usually not available. But I guess we can always fall back to our hive accounts for that. However, it’s always good to know and learn new things about hive, perhaps I will have to learn about more tools in the future.
