PEOPLE’S IMPORTANCE
People are important, you know, even the holy book says a friend is there for time of trouble. ANd then there is a saying that the lone wolf doesn’t go far. No matter how good or strong a person is, a friend is always needed. There have been several instances I can remember where my friends saved my life. For me, it was more than once, There have also been times where I had to step up for my friends who were in dare need, Sometimes I look back and wonder what I would have done if those people were not in my life as at that time. Those where times when I had totally lost hope, but they came through for me and helped me stand back again. I do not talk much with a lot of them now, I have even lost contact with some of them, but looking back now, I am so happy that they were there at the time I needed them the most else, I would not be here writing about it lol.

I have come to understand that there are currencies other than money that controls how the world is governed, and if you lack them at any point in life, no matter how much you have, you will end up being in need. One of these currencies is relationship. I can not count how many times my friends came through for me even though I refused to ask for help because I did not want to bother anyone. Countless times back then they gave me food after going days without eating and some would even make sure I never lacked as long as I was with them. There was this particular person that was with me throughout my school days, and even after I had dropped out and came back, she made sure I never lacked food at all. I also remember three times in my life when I was dying silently in my little room from sickness, it was friends who came to visit me that helped me survive and even paid all the bills.

The job I am doing today was based on high recommendations from friends around who wanted to see me prosper. Most of the high level courses I got for free that helped me progress in my career were given to me by my friends. I could go on and on about what my friends have done for me, from the most recent one was when I attempted suicide and these guys won’t let me die. Yeah I would do the same for them too, but the question also pops, what if I never had friends, what if in those trying times I knew no one? We were not made to live alone, and by this it isn’t just about a spouse, it’s about a friend who we can rely on. Yes there are bad friends, but we often know the good ones in times of trouble. Like the saying "A friend in need, is a friend indeed.

It's very real how friends are a kind of "invisible currency" that sustains life in difficult times. You can feel that you've been through a lot and that friendship has made all the difference. Appreciate those who are close to you, even when time and distance get in the way.
