MENTAL BOOST

I've watched quite a good number of sci-fi movies, and from there I know a thing or two about tech chips. I remember watching Arrow and saw how a lady whose spine was broken had a chance to walk again after she invented a chip that could fix her spin. I also watched black lightning and saw how a man whose spine was completely ripped out of his body got a chance to walk again after an artificial spine was created for him and a chip was inserted in it to make him walk again. As much as these events are fictional, we know that technology has advanced to the point where chips can be used on humans. Knowing about the generations of computers, the third generation used integrated circuits which formed the discovery of what we now know as chips or biochips. These chips function more like the microchips used in the microprocessors of the 4th generation computers and an advanced style of integrated circuits. It is in simple words using computers to make the human body function far better than it would have organically. I see biochips as something that would be very prevalent in the future, but at this point, I would not trust the process for fear of unforeseen side effects since it’s still in the experimental stage, or at least I feel it is.

It will take a lot of convincing for me to accept a foreign matter in any part of my body, let alone my brain even though I know it will accelerate my mental faculties. The reason is because the brain is a very very unique part of the human body, and what are the possibilities that I won’t get a mental degradation instead of a boost if I should allow such foreign matter into my brain. If we remember how the legendary Michael Jackson did surgery to alter his normal physical appearance, as at the time he did it, such a procedure was still experimental and we all know how it turned out for him, with all the side effects he faced before his passing. This is the major reason I don’t do experiments, especially not with my body. I would like to fully understand every single procedure that is involved in the process and also know my survival chances and the possible side effects. And if for any reason one of the possible side effects is degradation of my brain cells, then sorry I won’t take the risk. I can accept any other risk but not that.

I understand that most of these bio/microchips always need periodic upgrades for them to function, this would be another concern to me, because whoever is in charge of my upgrade is practically in charge of my life. They would control every part of my being, if they wish that I die, they are just a button away. So technically my life would be at their end. That is why the only way I would agree to do such a thing, is if I can control every part of my upgrade and existence. Right now I do not have to worry about someone being in charge of my life, I do not want to have to worry about it later in life. I prefer to be dumb and free, than to be intelligent and in bondage.
