LIVE IT, LOVE IT #270
I remember a quote from the 1975 movie love and death “ To love is to suffer, to avoid suffering, one must not love, but then one suffers from not loving. Therefore to love is to suffer, not to love is to suffer, to suffer is to suffer. To be happy is to love, then to be happy is to suffer, but suffering makes one unhappy”. As complicated as this quote is, it just tells us about life, and we are meant to choose our own happiness. I believe everyone can be happy only if we open our hearts to happiness because in the real sense there will always be suffering in this world one way or another.
For me I am happy when I see those close to my heart happy. It doesn’t matter what I am going through as long as they can be happy. This is not me saying they are the source of my happiness, it just means I have chosen to have joy around them. This means I have to do everything to make them happy so I can be happy. But it comes with a backlash though, because when I can not make them happy, I become sad. I am already content with the things I have been blessed with, this is why making them happy is of the utmost priority for me.
But there are other side things that give me joy, like football and good food. Especially when I am watching football and eating good food lol. But apart from these, my soul purpose is making those around me happy. This is why I strive to help them reach their full potential because in doing so, I am also helping myself. I celebrate their wins like mine and I make sure they strive to achieve more because only then I am truly happy.
