A TIME TO REFLECT #269

The year will be ending in a few days and a lot of people try to do new things, set new goals and give themselves something to look forward to in the new year. This universal end of the year tradition just gives us a sense of purpose. For me I do it not just in my personal life but in my work life too. Before leaving work on Friday I had already written down my plans for the company for the coming year alongside our sister companies under my control and this is because I want to be more productive next year. But for me to start on a good note, there are traditions I have always loved to practice, these traditions help me start on a strong note.

It’s not really much and nothing special because I like to reflect a lot. But this time it is different, I am not just reflecting on things like I do on a normal day, I am reflecting on my entire year. I use this opportunity to plan my next line of action, and this usually takes 48 hours to finish. It mustn't really be 48 hours, but I do not stop until I finish. I do not leave the house to do anything at all. I just stay home, sometimes fast, plan, reflect and replan. My best decisions are usually made when I do this and I will be doing it again this year because it helps me to fully own my mistakes, take corrections and plan what to do better.

I do not want to go through the struggle I went through last year, I wasn’t able to plan like this because in the process of planning last year things started coming up that took me more than half way through the year. I did not have the time to analyze a lot of things and I repeated some mistakes which I do not want to repeat ever again.I want to make sure I try as much as possible to get the best out of myself this year, not just in words, but in actions also.
