Street Sparklers and New Beginnings
How are you all my wonderful creative friends and community members? I hope you all had a safe and amazing New Year celebration with your loved ones I am back with a new drawing and I am so excited to share it because this is my entry for the January sketchquest contest. Even though the holiday is over I am still thinking about the lights and the noise so my inspiration for this sketch is the street sparklers we saw during the celebration. I wanted to create these two characters who are like the spirits of the sparklers running through the town. They look very happy and festive with their bright colors and the sparks flying from their hats but they are also a little bit mischievous. If you see them on the street you might want to join their dance but be careful because the sparks they throw can be a bit wild and unpredictable. I had such a fun time designing their outfits and capturing that feeling of a midnight party in the streets.
