If my mother ever blogged I would have cherished her writings. I would discover insights and thoughts from her I wouldn't have known. I'm glad your son has taken an interest, especially when you write about your family experiences and memories that he will cherish as he reads them again in the future.

I have not experienced a family or in-law that had abused support from relatives yet. But I could understand the sense of betrayal. But you raise that as important point that it can happen and not let our guard down. Regardless, should things go bad, the only people we can depend on are our friends and family we support and help when the government can not.
