LOH Community Content: #255 - An Amazing Return
Hello Ladies of Hive. It's been a minute and it feels great to catch up with the activities around here.
1️⃣ You've earned the money to buy a house, and you have two options. The first is a big, beautiful house, but one whose best years are behind it. It needs a lot of repairs and remodeling, and therefore its price is low. The second option is a small house. It's not as beautiful as the previous one, but you don't have to invest time or money in repairs so its price is much higher than the previous one. What do you choose? Are you on the "repair to my liking" team or the "buy everything ready and fast" team?
What an awesome question. I love it. I love a challenge, and I strongly believe that I am artistic and creative. Hehe!
The year is ‘20marvelous’ and my hustle has finally paid. I’ve finally made my millions through hard work and I now have enough money to buy a house - TERRIFIC!!!
Would I go through the hassle of making a big house my own? Absolutely!
I’ve got two options; buy a cheaper big house that I obviously have to fix or buy a smaller and more expensive house where I have little or nothing to fix.
You already guessed it. I’m definitely going for the bigger house. Not just because it would be cheaper. I mean, I still have to fix it yeah? The perk of this would be refurbishing it to my taste.
I can already imagine my little beautifully curated garden with all the plants I want arranged in a special pattern that when the lights come on at night, would look like Eden. Do you get the picture? Hehe!
I can see myself in a crafted study personalized for all my work and study. The comfy and sleek furniture, the ambience, and everything screaming “work in comfort.”
This is only a peek of why I’d rather fix a bigger house not minding the extra time or cost. In the end, I know it is going to be absolutely worth it.
2️⃣ In my country, school vacation is over, while in others, summer has just ended. What preparations are you making for your home and routine for the coming months?
The school season has begun in my country and the holidays are so over. Part of me is so ready for a routine but another part of me is skeptical - Perhaps just imagining I would go with the entire flow as it comes. This is mostly because I’m a mum of one and still expecting in a couple of weeks. With my little joy arriving, I know there are going to be lots of changes and adjustments going on in our little growing home. I’m afraid of making too many plans right now because I’m not sure exactly what to expect.
I’m planning on taking it one day at a time. That way, there would certainly be a pattern as things fall into place eventually. From there, I’d be able to establish what works for me in the long run.

If you don't mind the extra time and expense, the first option is for you. Taking things one day at a time is good in any area of life.

Yes, for a big house, if you prioritize each issue in importance, cost and complexity we could afford to take our time addressing each project. Even with my small home there are always something needed fixing. Like life, the house becoming a home is in itself a part of our journey. And I've accumulated a tool collection over the 25+ years.
Thanks for sharing @kei2
