This piece was done digitally using Ivy’s Paint X, and my main goal was to capture the calm yet powerful presence of the Ocean Healer while playing around with vibrant blues, flowing water effects, and soft lighting to enhance the overall mood of the artwork. Every new piece I work on helps me learn something new, and this one was no exception.
Art Process
I followed a structured, step-by-step workflow to bring this artwork to life:

Initial Sketch
I started with a rough digital sketch to establish the pose, proportions, and overall composition of the character.

Clean Line Art
After refining the sketch, I created clean and precise line art to clearly define the character’s features, outfit, and flowing elements.

Base Colors
I applied flat base colors, starting with the skin tones, then moving on to the hair and clothing to set the foundation.

Rendering and Shading
Next, I focused on shading the skin and rendering the hair to add depth, volume, and softness. Special attention was given to lighting to enhance the Ocean Healer’s serene expression.

Details and Effects
I added details to the outfit and introduced water effects and glow elements to emphasize the ocean theme and bring more life to the composition.

Final Touches
Lastly, I adjusted the colors, contrast, and overall balance background to make sure everything felt cohesive and visually pleasing.
