New Year 2026 Plans: Being Myself

Hey Everyone šŸ‘‹šŸ»

As I mentioned in my earlier New Year blog, this year I’m not making any typical ā€œNew Year resolution lists.ā€ I’ve done that every year, and honestly, I could barely follow them for one or two months. The year always starts with full motivation and excitement, but as days pass, the energy slowly drops. I start skipping things—first one day, then two—and eventually everything falls apart. So this year, I decided not to go that route.

I’ve chosen to keep things simple.

Last year, I had some really big resolutions—reaching 10k Hive Power, saving 1k HBD, being super consistent and active on Hive, upgrading my skills, and switching to a better job within three months. Everything was pre-decided, including the results.

This year, I’m not deciding the results. I’m focusing only on the work.

We don’t really have control over results, but we do have control over our actions. When we focus too much on outcomes and things don’t go exactly as planned, we end up saying, ā€œIt’s not working.ā€ The truth is, it’s not working because we’re trying to force results instead of improving our actions. Results are not our responsibility—actions are. When actions improve, results automatically follow. And if we’re already expecting a specific outcome, we fail to appreciate or even accept different results. That’s the mindset I’m trying to change this year.

So yes, my plans look similar to last year (since I didn’t achieve much šŸ˜…), but the difference is—I’m not expecting fixed results this time.

Here’s how I’m planning this year:

Source

First, I still want to grow my Hive Power and HBD savings. But instead of targeting a fixed number, I’m focusing on consistency. My goal is to post at least one post daily and be more interactive on the Hive platform. If I stay consistent, the numbers will eventually grow on their own.

Second, I’m continuously working on upgrading my skills. There’s no timeline or pressure. I’ll keep learning daily, give interviews alongside, and learn from rejections as well. I truly believe that if I learn something every day, I’ll naturally become job-ready over time.

Third, along with job-related skills, I’m also working on social media skills. I tried this last year too, but I got distracted by likes and views. This year, I’m treating it purely as a learning journey, not an earning one. I’m posting one short video daily on YouTube, mostly about my daily routines—learning how to shoot better, edit better, and present better. Views don’t matter. Likes don’t matter. It’s like a daily assignment for me. I’ve seen how creators improve over the years, and I know my editing isn’t great right now—but it will be much better by the end of the year.

Fourth, I’m building the habit of working out daily. I’ve been going to the gym for the last three months and plan to continue throughout the year. The gym helps with consistency, and the people there motivate me to keep going. Having a permanent work-from-home job with US night shifts really affected my health. It was one of the main reasons I wanted a job switch. My mental health was also suffering—being alone in one room for most of the day made me irritated and negative. Gym has helped me a lot with that.

Fifth, I’m focusing on devotion and inner connection. Nothing big—just small habits. I’ve started listening again to Swami Mukundananda’s talks. I used to listen earlier but somehow stopped. His teachings help me stay positive during tough times and feel more connected to God. I also practice meditation and regular worship. Compared to last year, I feel much calmer and happier now.

Lastly, I want to enjoy life more with my family and friends. More trips, more experiences, more exploring. I want to step out of my comfort zone, take risks, try new things, and travel as much as possible.

These aren’t big life-changing plans. They’re just small habits I’m choosing every day. That’s why I call it ā€œHabits Over Hype.ā€ Some days I give 100%, some days barely 10%—and that’s okay. What matters is doing it daily, not how perfectly it’s done.

Being a young girl with my education completed and responsibilities increasing, most of my habits revolve around earning and stability. At this stage of life, it has naturally become a priority for me. So these are my simple plans for the year—no hype, just habits.
