Time

Hello Hive friends! It feels like time went by so fast for our Hive 2025 journey. Hive Power Up Day has always been a time marker for me. Something that reminds me of how precious and wonderful the concept of time really is because once the time that we have is used up, we can't get it back again; no Undo (ctrl+z) can ever bring back the time that was given to us.

In this aspect of life, everyone is given the same 24 hours every day, which makes me think that we are all equals because of this. What we do with every second that we have is our own choice and every decision affects our life; because time is a continuum and our actions today will have an effect in our future.

So, I was checking out my Hivebuzz board to see how I did for the 2025 HPUD and it shows that I had missed one HPUD, which made me sad. Upon checking, I found out that I did power up for the February HPUD, but I did it early in the morning. Philippine time is around 14 hours ahead of North America so it was the time difference that caused me to miss the HPUD. This is something that I should be more aware of for the succeeding HPUD events.

For this month, I am powering up 100 liquid Hive tokens in my account. This will be the last time for the year and adds on to my Hive Power (HP). I now have 6,003.044 HP, which is now 20 % higher vs my 2025 goal of 5,000 HP. In the larger scheme of the Hive token blockchain, this is but a small amount. I think most Hiveans fall under this category since many users here don't have big balances that can significantly impact our life. Still, taking into consideration the fiat-to-Hive/HBD conversion, it can be a good side hustle for most of us. Especially now that the USD:PHP exchange rate is high, the HBD should give us better fiat value.

HivePH: 12 Blogs of Christmas Event

Our awesome group, the HivePH community, will be having a Discord Holiday Night and Christmas Event on the 13th of December. A blogging contest prompt connected to this event was launched to help celebrate the event with prizes going to the winners for each day.

The first topic: 1st Day - Blog about your introduction/first post on Hive as a reflection of your beginnings.

I hope that everyone can participate and join in the fun and prizes. As for me, my introduction post came before Hive was born in the previous blockchain before the fork. It was a happy moment for me since I was looking for a place to host my writing and found this blockchain with a blogging side to it. It was a long time ago and I was just happy to nurture my creative writing side and advocacies in life. There were some OGs who commented on my intro post, which was even picked for a newcomer initiative by Arcange, which is what we now do at HivePH: helping newbies navigate the blockchain and supporting Hiveans, both Filipinos and non-Filipinos alike.

Final thoughts

I believe that HPUD is a fantastic initiative that helps bring awareness especially to newbies who are still learning the ropes. It benefits the account owners by increasing their delegation rewards and APR. Aside from this, it also helps the blockchain by showing support and commitment through staking. Personally, I just like stacking up this token since the price is so low now. Hopefully, we will have better prices in the near future.
