Leaves You Wanting More...
I was going to write about this days back, but I felt reluctant at some point. Veering a bit off topic to ask, just how much does Hive know about us, and how much should they keep knowing?
Lol. It’s a thought that randomly occurred to me because I usually think I’ve said far too many things about myself on the chain, or maybe I’ve not said too much, and I’m mostly just overthinking it, but what can you do when you’re the type of writer who doesn’t realize what has been written till you’re done writing, and then you're too lazy to take it back?
Anyway, I'll just get back to the topic at hand. I saw this question, by the Ladies of Hive Community, and as always, it caused me to do some deep thinking. But then, I was unsure if the answer to the question should come from me, or someone who knows me.
Spices make life and food interesting! If a spice could describe you and your personality, what would that spice be and why?
For the longest time, I used to think that I had a face that you needed to look at twice before you could see whatever beauty lay, and as much as I’d like to say that this opinion of myself has changed, sometimes I still feel that I need to look extra good before you can appreciate me at the first instance, even though it’s become as clear to me as day, especially this year, that this is not the case.
And so to answer this question, I asked a good friend of mine what spice he would use to describe my personality based on what he knew about me, and at first he said pepper, and we had a good laugh about the prospect of me looking all shiny and glittery on the outside, but on the inside I would probably burn your tongue.
No, please. This is definitely not me, I think.
After thinking for a few seconds, he exclaimed, “Thyme!” and I started laughing, and asked why he chose that nearly forgotten spice amongst all the other spices that existed, and he said that, that was exactly the point.
He said that he had never used thyme as a spice for his meals, and thought it was one of those spices you overlooked because what really was the essence? But then the one time he used thyme for his meals, he's never stopped. That there’s a uniqueness and flavour to it you don’t get anywhere else.
And so narrowing it to me, he said (and this is me paraphrasing) that it’s easy to just see me as one of those people, regular people, in fact. But after one interaction or personal encounter with me, you’d just always want to be in my space. You’d see the value, and you’d always want to be a part of that.
This was one of the nicest things to hear in a while. I was mostly distracted during this conversation, and it was only when I thought about it later on, that it made so much sense to me, and the beautiful depth to it, unfolded before me.
Of course, this is his view of me, so you can call it subjective, but is anything when it comes to the analysis of a person ever really objective? Either way, I liked this description of my personality, and while I may have some other spice in mind if I think on it hard enough, this would have to do for now.
I even thought of a catchy phrase for it. Tessa: the spice that leaves you wanting more!
It's got a nice ring to it, right?😂

Nice post, lol
Ok, talking about the first part, I usually consider that hive has like, maybe 7 (overshooting here) people who actually read through most of my posts, and maybe only one or two will remember what I wrote in an hour or two so I just don't think about it too much.
Now your main premise. I think this friend of yours chose a great spice and he has a great sense of humour.
I think that's the mentality I need to cultivate. They'll probably forget all about it in like an hour or so, so why overthink it? Really nice, B0s. Thank you.🌹
Haha, I love this! 😂 From pepper to thyme, what a journey! Honestly, “Tessa: the spice that leaves you wanting more” sounds like a perfect tagline.
I thought so as well.😂
Thank you for this heart-warming comment.🌺

Thyme is such a beautiful and meaningful choice! 💖 The idea of it being an initially overlooked spice that becomes essential is a beautiful compliment 🙌 It truly suggests a subtle yet powerful value that gets revealed over time 💕
Exactly so!
Its benefits are endless, and once you have that first experience, you just can't do without it.
Thank you so much for reading.🥰
haha you caught me with the title 😅 well I agree, once you taste the different spices, you will like them and will really look for them, especially if they taste good. 😅
Catchy title, ehn...😂
