Weekend at Larafest

Thursday began with the opening ceremony. The president of Larafest, accompanied by the president of the Sheep and Goat Expo, business and government representatives, and the queens of various beauty pageants, welcomed the public.

The La Salle Show Band provided musical accompaniment, while various media outlets covered the details of the event. After cutting the ribbon, they toured the entire fairgrounds, visiting the stands of the participating companies.

El jueves comenzó con la ceremonia de inauguración. El presidente de Larafest, acompañado por el presidente de la Sheep and Goat Expo, representantes empresariales y gubernamentales, y las reinas de varios concursos de belleza, dio la bienvenida al público.

La banda La Salle Show Band se encargó del acompañamiento musical, mientras que los distintos medios de comunicación cubrieron los detalles del evento. Tras cortar la cinta, realizaron un recorrido por todo el recinto ferial, visitando los stands de las empresas participantes.

In conjunction with Larafest, the Seventh Barquisimeto Sheep and Goat Fair was held, which had been scheduled for last month but was postponed, and it was the perfect opportunity to collaborate with the Larafest organization to make it happen.

Similarly, the Buffalo Expo is another of the activities held at Larafest. Livestock farmers from different parts of the country attended. The logistics were impressive, and some of them came from an area of the country that had been affected by heavy rains, but they did everything possible to attend the event.

En conjunción con Larafest, se celebró la Séptima Feria de Ovejas y Cabras de Barquisimeto, que estaba programada para el mes pasado pero se pospuso, y fue la oportunidad perfecta para colaborar con la organización de Larafest para llevarla a cabo.

Del mismo modo, la Expo Búfalo es otra de las actividades que se celebran en Larafest. Asistieron ganaderos de diferentes partes del país. La logística fue impresionante, y algunos de ellos procedían de una zona del país que se había visto afectada por fuertes lluvias, pero hicieron lo imposible para poder asistir al evento.

The dance festivals, featuring more than 50 groups and academies, are part of the main stage performances. I could only stay there for a while, as I wanted to explore the entire space. The audience enjoyed the talent of the dance groups, who shone in their performances.

The shopping area was packed. There were large stands covering all kinds of sectors. From food, technology, auto parts, livestock, etc. Some stands were huge. Just walking around the venue was quite a spectacle. Small business owners also had their own area to offer their products.

Car dealers also had their own spaces, where they displayed the latest models available, so that anyone with a few thousand dollars could pay for them, sign a contract, and drive away with a new car.

La zona comercial estaba abarrotada. Había grandes stands que abarcaban todo tipo de sectores. Desde alimentación, tecnología, recambios para automóviles, ganado, etc. Algunos stands eran enormes. El simple hecho de pasear por el recinto era todo un espectáculo. Los pequeños empresarios también tenían su propia zona para ofrecer sus productos.

Los concesionarios de automóviles también tenían sus propios espacios, donde exhibían los últimos modelos disponibles, de modo que cualquiera que tuviera unos pocos miles de dólares podía pagarlos, firmar un contrato y marcharse con un coche nuevo.

I spent quite a bit of time in the small business area, where I met some people, chatted with them for a while, and tried a few things. On Thursday, they also chose the Larafest 2025 Girl, but I didn't have time to go see the show because I was busy in another area of the venue.

Pasé bastante tiempo en la zona de pequeños empresarios, donde conocí a algunas personas, charlé un rato con ellas y probé algunas cosas. El jueves también eligieron a la Larafest 2025 Girl, pero no tuve tiempo de ir a ver el espectáculo porque estaba ocupado en otra zona del recinto.
