Last weekend, I had the opportunity to attend a social event organized by the women of Poder Femenino. On other occasions, I have posted about some of the events that take place there, such as bazaars. This time, as part of Pink Month, they celebrated the second edition of a social project called Veo la Vida Color Rosa (I See Life Through Rose-Colored Glasses).

This was specifically on Saturday at approximately 2:30 p.m. I arrived on time, and they were making the final preparations to begin the activity. Everything was decorated in pink, and the women who belong to that association were very busy finalizing the details.

The activity consisted of paying tribute to 25 women who have overcome cancer. All of them were cancer patients who have overcome or are in the process of overcoming this terrible disease that claims the lives of so many women.

El fin de semana pasado, tuve la oportunidad de asistir a un evento social organizado por las mujeres de Poder Femenino. En otras ocasiones, he publicado sobre algunos de los eventos que se llevan a cabo allí, como bazares. Esta vez, , como parte del Mes Rosa, celebraron la segunda edición de un proyecto social llamado Veo la Vida Color Rosa.

Esto fue concretamente el sábado a las 2:30 p. m. aproximadamente. Llegué puntual y estaban haciendo los últimos preparativos para comenzar la actividad. Todo estaba decorado en rosa y las mujeres que pertenecen a esa asociación estaban muy ocupadas ultimando los detalles.

La actividad consistía en rendir homenaje a 25 mujeres que han superado el cáncer. Todas ellas eran pacientes de cáncer que han superado o están en proceso de superar esta terrible enfermedad que se cobra la vida de tantas mujeres.

We hoped that the sun would go down a little, as its rays were shining directly on the chairs where all the women being honored were sitting. The event was supported by several brands and sponsoring companies, which made it possible to give gifts to the women and offer them a variety of savory and sweet dishes, as well as juices, teas, and other surprises to make everyone feel welcome.

Anyie Hernández, director of Poder Femenino, kicked off the activity with some emotional words and a welcome to all attendees. She then introduced the three professionals who would participate in the debate: Verihuska Corredor, psychologist; Antony Camaraco, doctor; and Mariela Alvarado, motivational mentor.

Esperábamos que el sol bajara un poco, ya que sus rayos incidían directamente sobre las sillas donde estaban sentadas todas las mujeres homenajeadas. El evento contó con el apoyo de varias marcas y empresas patrocinadoras, que hicieron posible obsequiar a las mujeres y ofrecerles una variedad de platos salados y dulces, así como zumos, infusiones y otras sorpresas para que todas se sintieran bienvenidas.

Anyie Hernández, directora de Poder Femenino, dio inicio a la actividad con unas emotivas palabras y dando la bienvenida a todas las asistentes. A continuación, presentó a los tres profesionales que participarían en el debate: Verihuska Corredor, psicóloga; Antony Camaraco, médico, y Mariela Alvarado, mentora motivacional.

Each one had the opportunity to give their presentation, followed by a round of questions from the audience, which were answered. The three also shared their personal experiences with family members who had gone through or were going through the difficult battle of being cancer patients, without losing faith that they would overcome the disease.

The women being honored also had the opportunity to share their testimonies, how they received the news, how they reacted, what they did, how they addressed the problem with the whole family, and, of course, always leaving a positive message, because you have to keep fighting until the end.

Cada uno tuvo la oportunidad de realizar su presentación, seguida de una ronda de preguntas del público, que fueron respondidas. Las tres también compartieron sus experiencias personales con familiares que habían pasado o estaban pasando por la difícil batalla de ser pacientes de cáncer, sin perder la fe en que superarían la enfermedad.

Las mujeres homenajeadas también tuvieron la oportunidad de compartir sus testimonios, cómo recibieron la noticia, cómo reaccionaron, qué hicieron, cómo abordaron el problema con toda la familia y, por supuesto, siempre dejando un mensaje positivo, porque hay que seguir luchando hasta el final.

In between talks, snacks and drinks were handed out, and when they were finished, it was the Daras Foundation's turn to put on their entertainment show, dressed as clowns, and they made sure everyone had a great time. Jokes, interaction with everyone, and even a dance session to lift the spirits of all these warrior women.

There were other activities planned, but I had to leave, so I finished taking some photos while everyone continued to enjoy this very special activity.

En medio de las charlas, se repartieron aperitivos y bebidas, y cuando terminaron , fue el turno de la Fundación Daras, que ofreció su espectáculo de entretenimiento, vestidos de payasos, y se aseguraron de que todos lo pasaran muy bien. Bromas, interacción con todos e incluso una sesión de baile para levantar el ánimo de todas estas mujeres guerreras.

Había otras actividades previstas, pero yo tenía que marcharme, así que terminé de hacer algunas fotos mientras todos seguían disfrutando de esta actividad tan especial.
