From Boomers to Zoomers

Following the excellent reception of the first talk organized by the Barquisimeto Marketing and Business community, a second session was held a few weeks later. This time, the topic was generations, hence the title "From Boomers to Zoomers."

The chosen venue, which generously contributed its budget to this activity, is a new coworking space that has just opened in the city. Worklab is the name of this new coworking company and is located on Avenida Libertador, in the Patarata neighborhood of Barquisimeto, specifically in the Parque Jardín building.

The location is ideal for those who live near this area of ​​the city, as they don't have to travel to most of the coworking spaces operating in the eastern and central areas. Being located right on Avenida Libertador, access is quick, and for those without a car, it's within walking distance of various shopping centers in the eastern part of the city.

Tras la excelente acogida de la primera charla organizada por la comunidad de Marketing y Negocios de Barquisimeto, se realizó una segunda sesión unas semanas después. En esta ocasión, el tema fue las generaciones, de ahí el título "De los Boomers a los Zoomers".

El lugar elegido, que generosamente aportó su presupuesto para esta actividad, es un nuevo espacio de coworking que acaba de inaugurarse en la ciudad. Worklab es el nombre de esta nueva empresa de coworking y se encuentra en la Avenida Libertador, en el barrio Patarata de Barquisimeto, concretamente en el edificio Parque Jardín.

La ubicación es ideal para quienes viven cerca de esa zona de la ciudad, ya que no tienen que desplazarse a la mayoría de los espacios de coworking que operan en las zonas este y centro. Al estar situado en plena Avenida Libertador, el acceso es rápido y, para quienes no disponen de vehículo, se puede ir andando a diferentes centros comerciales de la zona este.

The spaces are quite large, with several rooms for meetings or offices. There's a central area that will house a cafeteria, so those who rent and work there can buy and enjoy coffee and snacks. I was able to speak with the manager, who showed me the newly installed generators, which guarantee a reliable power supply in the face of the frequent power outages that affect the country.

The area where the talk took place was quite spacious, air-conditioned, and very comfortable. Several brands joined this series of talks within the marketing community and attended to present their products.

Los espacios son bastante amplios, con diversas salas para reuniones u oficinas. Hay una zona central donde funcionará una cafetería, para que quienes alquilan y trabajan allí puedan comprar y disfrutar de café y aperitivos. Pude hablar con el gerente, quien me mostró los generadores recién instalados, que garantizan un suministro eléctrico fiable ante los frecuentes cortes de luz que afectan al país.

El área donde se llevó a cabo la charla era bastante espaciosa, con aire acondicionado y muy cómoda. Varias marcas se unieron a esta serie de charlas dentro de la comunidad de marketing y asistieron para presentar sus productos.

This talk featured three excellent speakers. Reynaldo Franco, a physician and business marketing consultant, explained the different generations that make up the national market. Liliana Nolasco, an economist, spoke about the generational landscape and appropriate risk management strategies, and Samuel Gutiérrez, a marketing specialist, focused on the baby boomer generation and its market potential.

The talk was moderated by El Compa Primera, a renowned marketing specialist. This talk was excellent because, unfortunately, the country still maintains a culture that only offers opportunities to the youngest. It's incredible that here, a 35-year-old finds it so difficult not only to be accepted in the job market but also to encounter obstacles in the field of entrepreneurship. These are young people with so much to offer, in addition to their experience, but things are skewed here. This is something that must change, although I'm always pessimistic about these changes. It won't happen overnight. Things will take time to mature in the national market.

The next community meeting will be held in another city in the same state. I'm going to attend this year, so I'll have to wait until May when they organize another event here.

Esta charla contó con la participación de tres excelentes oradores. Reynaldo Franco, médico de profesión y asesor de empresas en marketing, explicó las diferentes generaciones que conforman el mercado nacional. Liliana Nolasco, economista, habló sobre el mapa generacional y las estrategias adecuadas para la gestión de riesgos, y Samuel Gutiérrez, especialista en marketing, se centró en la generación del baby boom y su potencial en el mercado.

La charla fue moderada por El Compa Primera, reconocido especialista en marketing. Esta charla fue excelente, ya que, lamentablemente, el país aún mantiene una cultura que solo ofrece oportunidades a los más jóvenes. Es increíble que aquí, a alguien de 35 años le resulte tan difícil no solo ser aceptado en el mercado laboral, sino también encontrar obstáculos en el ámbito del emprendimiento. Son jóvenes con mucho que ofrecer, además de la experiencia que poseen, pero aquí las cosas están sesgadas. Esto es algo que debe cambiar, aunque siempre soy pesimista respecto a estos cambios. No sucederá de la noche a la mañana. Las cosas tardarán en madurar en el mercado nacional.

La próxima charla comunitaria se celebrará en otra ciudad del mismo estado. Voy a asistir este año, así que tendré que esperar hasta mayo, cuando organicen otra actividad aquí.
