Last Saturday was a day with two events. I had to attend two beauty pageant events. I already posted about one of them in a previous entry. Both were press presentations of the candidates and the selection of the contestant chosen by the media as the wearer of the sash.

This event took place at the Cima restaurant, located in the renowned Tiffany Hotel in the eastern part of the city of Barquisimeto. The restaurant is on the sixth floor and has a very pleasant atmosphere. It was my first time there, as I had not had the opportunity to attend previous events held there.

El sábado pasado fue un día con dos eventos. Tuve que asistir a dos eventos de belleza. Ya publiqué sobre uno de ellos en una entrada anterior. Ambos fueron presentaciones a la prensa de las candidatas y la selección de la concursante elegida por los medios de comunicación como la portadora de la banda.

Este evento tuvo lugar en el restaurante Cima, ubicado en las instalaciones del renombrado Hotel Tiffany, en la ciudad de Barquisimeto, situada en la parte este de la ciudad. El restaurante se encuentra en la sexta planta y el ambiente es bastante agradable. Era la primera vez que lo visitaba, ya que no había tenido la oportunidad de asistir a eventos anteriores celebrados allí.

I like to be punctual, so I arrived at seven in the evening. Everything was ready, the tables for the jury and where the candidates would sit. They were all getting ready on another floor, finishing their preparations. The special guests, who would be the jury, began to arrive. The contestants' families were also present, and the restaurant was open for regular diners.

The hotel manager, journalists, and representatives from various media outlets, including television, newspapers, and alternative digital media, made up the diverse jury responsible for evaluating various aspects of each of the Miss Crown Universe contestants.

The current winner of the contest, who won last year, and last year's first runner-up were also present. When all the jury members arrived, the organizer kicked off the event.

Me gusta ser puntual, así que llegué a las siete de la noche. Todo estaba listo, las mesas para el jurado y donde se sentarían las candidatas. Todas se estaban arreglando en otra planta, terminando sus preparativos. Los invitados especiales, que serían el jurado, comenzaron a llegar. Las familias de las concursantes también estaban presentes, y el restaurante estaba abierto para los comensales habituales.

La gerente del hotel, periodistas y representantes de diversos medios de comunicación, incluyendo televisión, periódicos y medios digitales alternativos, conformaban el variado jurado encargado de evaluar diversos aspectos de cada una de las concursantes de Miss Crown Universe.

La actual ganadora del concurso, que ganó el año pasado, y la primera finalista del año pasado también estaban presentes. Cuando todos los miembros del jurado llegaron, el organizador dio inicio al evento.

The girls entered and paraded around the venue, passing between the tables, and then entered one by one. They were introduced and walked down the runway to sit in front of the jury, who asked them questions. This part was key, as it was necessary to assess their knowledge of the subject, their confidence, their poise, their charisma, etc.

I was surprised by most of them; they were well prepared and conveyed confidence in every answer. Of course, some had a better command than others, and their answers and ease of expression stood out. There were about three who did better than the rest, but three of them stood out for their better expression and lack of nervousness.

Las chicas entraron y desfilaron por el recinto, pasando entre las mesas, y luego entraron una por una. Fueron presentadas y caminaron por la pasarela para sentarse frente al jurado, que les hizo preguntas. Esta parte fue clave, ya que era necesario evaluar sus conocimientos sobre el tema, su confianza, su aplomo, su carisma, etc.

Me sorprendieron la mayoría de ellas; estaban bien preparadas y transmitían confianza en cada respuesta. Por supuesto, algunas tenían un mejor dominio que otras, y sus respuestas y facilidad de expresión destacaban. Hubo unas tres que lo hicieron mejor, las demás también, pero tres de ellas destacaron por su mejor expresión y su nula nerviosidad.

There was a musical interlude while the points were tallied to choose the winner of the press. I took the opportunity to take some photos, although the lighting was very dim and the photos did not turn out very well.

Before announcing the results, the new crown, crafted by a renowned goldsmith, was presented. It will be the crown worn by this year's winner at the final event, which will be held soon.

The results were then announced, and the girl who had performed the best in the activity was the winner of the press sash. She received the sash, a bouquet of flowers, and proceeded to record for the various media outlets present and take photos with everyone.

A simple but very nice activity. Now we just have to wait for the final event to see who will be the lucky winner.

Hubo un interludio musical mientras se contabilizaban los puntos para elegir a la ganadora de la prensa. Aproveché la oportunidad para tomar algunas fotos, aunque la iluminación era muy tenue y las fotos no salieron muy bien.

Antes de anunciar los resultados, se presentó la nueva corona, elaborada por un renombrado orfebre. Será la corona que llevará la ganadora de este año en el evento final, que se celebrará próximamente.

A continuación, se anunciaron los resultados y la chica que mejor había realizado la actividad fue la ganadora de la banda de la prensa. Recibió la banda, un ramo de flores y procedió a grabar para los diferentes medios de comunicación presentes y a hacerse fotos con todos.

Una actividad sencilla pero muy bonita. Ahora solo nos queda esperar al evento final para ver quién será la afortunada ganadora.
