Cosplayers celebrate Christmas.

Last weekend, Metro Geek Christmas was held. This event is organized by Matsucon at the Metropolis shopping center in Barquisimeto. It is the Christmas edition, which marks the end of each year's activities. A cosplay gathering is held so that the community can celebrate and have a good time, relax for the rest of the year, and wait for the calendar of events that must already be in preparation.
The various scheduled activities took place on both Saturday and Sunday. Although the city was experiencing a partial public transport strike, this did not prevent the event from taking place and attracting an excellent turnout. Perhaps some people were unable to attend due to the lack of transport on these days.
El fin de semana pasado se celebró Metro Geek Christmas. Este evento está organizado por Matsucon en el centro comercial Metropolis de Barquisimeto. Se trata de la edición navideña, que marca el final de las actividades de cada año. Se celebra una reunión de cosplay para que la comunidad pueda celebrar y pasar un buen rato, relajarse durante el resto del año y esperar el calendario de eventos que ya debe estar preparándose.
Tanto el sábado como el domingo se llevaron a cabo las diferentes actividades programadas. Aunque la ciudad estaba sufriendo una huelga parcial del transporte público, eso no impidió que el evento se celebrara y tuviera una excelente asistencia. Quizás algunas personas no pudieron asistir debido a la falta de transporte estos días.

Everything took place on the central stage of the shopping center, where the Christmas tree and the stand for visitors to take photos are now located. The different brand stands that participated were placed around the stage, and there were also the stores that always support Matsucon events.
I attended both days. On Saturday, the musical performance was provided by Academia Torres Music, a Matsucon partner academy, to which some cosplayers also belong, where they hone their singing skills. Two of them took to the stage and sang a few songs. Other members of the academy, who are not cosplayers, livened up the afternoon with songs from different genres. They even got all the cosplayers to dance to the rhythm of Christmas.
Todo tuvo lugar en el escenario central del centro comercial, donde ahora se encuentran el árbol de Navidad y el stand para que los visitantes del centro comercial puedan tomar fotografías. Los diferentes stands de marcas que participaron se colocaron alrededor del escenario, y también estaban las tiendas que siempre apoyan los eventos de Matsucon.
Asistí ambos días. El sábado, el espectáculo musical estuvo a cargo de Academia Torres Music, una academia aliada de Matsucon, a la que también pertenecen algunos cosplayers, donde perfeccionan su talento para el canto. Dos de ellos subieron al escenario y cantaron algunas canciones. Otros miembros de la academia, que no son cosplayers, animaron la tarde con canciones de diferentes géneros. Incluso consiguieron que todos los cosplayers bailaran al ritmo de la Navidad.

Kpop also had its place, specifically on Sunday, when individual and group performances were held by talented young people who showed off their choreography to the beat of Kpop. These were evaluated by a jury of specialists in the field.
During both days there was a cosplay parade, with Batman from Barquisimeto and Yirka, a well-known cosplayer, as judges. On both days, the parade and the cosplayers' performances were the main attraction. Although the theme was Christmas, other types of cosplay were also allowed to participate. The winners really stood out, and I also saw others who were excellent. The jury evaluated the costumes and the performance.
El Kpop también tuvo su espacio, concretamente el domingo, cuando se celebraron actuaciones individuales y grupales a cargo de jóvenes talentosos que mostraron sus coreografías al ritmo del Kpop. Estas fueron evaluadas por un jurado de especialistas en la materia.
Durante ambos días hubo un desfile de cosplay, con Batman de Barquisimeto y Yirka, una conocida cosplayer, como jueces. En ambos días, el desfile y las actuaciones de los cosplayers fueron la principal atracción. Aunque el tema era la Navidad, también podían participar otros tipos de cosplay. Los ganadores realmente destacaron, y también vi a otros que eran excelentes. El jurado evaluó los trajes y la actuación.

I took many photos during the two days. On Saturday, the activities began at 10 a.m., and on Sunday, at 12 noon, because that was when the mall opened its doors to the public.
The winners received prizes, a group of cosplayers organized the traditional Secret Santa, and, in general, the gathering served as a way for the cosplay community and K-pop fans to enjoy two days to say goodbye to the year. We will have to wait until 2026 to see new activities and events.
Tomé muchas fotos durante los dos días. El sábado, las actividades comenzaron a las 10 de la mañana, y el domingo, a las 12 del mediodía, porque era cuando el centro comercial abría sus puertas al público.
Los ganadores recibieron premios, un grupo de cosplayers organizó el tradicional amigo invisible y, en general, la reunión sirvió para que la comunidad cosplay y los fans del K-pop disfrutaran de dos días para despedir el año. Habrá que esperar hasta 2026 para ver nuevas actividades y eventos.

Me encanta!!! No sólo la cantidad de gente que asistió a pesar de que no había tanto transporte público, como los disfraces, están espectaculares todos, se nota el gran trabajo de todos los participantes. La última foto es genial, aunque el Batman siempre ganará para mí... ahhh era jurado jajaja
Me alegra fueras ambos días y disfrutaras de todos los espectáculos, ahora habrá que esperar bastante para otro, pero quien quita lo bailado!! Gracias JC!🤗
Estuvo muy bueno todo, bastante afluencia, a pesar del problema de transporte esos días. Si, el Batman era jurado esos días. Hay otro el fin de semana , pero es en otra pueblo. Mas o menos en Febrero deben comenzar otros eventos, por motivo de carnaval. Enero es un mes algo flojo. La gente pasando la resaca de Diciembre y con lso bolsillos limpios por gastar todo el dinero jajaja
