Two days of Cosplay

The number of cosplayers who attended the last Comic Expo was quite high. Both days were packed with cosplayers who came to have a good time, meet up with friends, and, of course, take photos—a must.

Photos, videos, etc. I took tons of pictures, and even so, I know I missed many cosplayers. There was an area next to the stage set up for people to take photos. My friend Frantografias, a photographer from the city, was also there, with his lights set up, taking a lot of pictures.

I spent quite a bit of time in that area; we even helped each other take photos. When other friends from digital media and low-budget content creators arrived, we organized ourselves to take photos. For a moment, I went to take a picture with Catwoman at the Batman collectors' booth.

La cantidad de cosplayers que asistieron a la última Comic Expo fue bastante alta. Ambos días estuvieron repletos de cosplayers que vinieron a pasarlo bien, a reunirse con sus amigos y, por supuesto, a tomar fotos, algo imprescindible.

Fotos, vídeos, etc. Tomé muchísimas fotos, y aun así, sé que me perdí a muchos cosplayers. Había una zona junto al escenario habilitada para que la gente se hiciera fotos. Mi amigo Frantografias, un fotógrafo de la ciudad, también estaba allí, con sus luces montadas y tomando muchísimas fotos.

Pasé bastante tiempo en esa zona; incluso nos ayudamos entre nosotros para tomar fotos. Cuando llegaron otros amigos de medios digitales y creadores de contenido de bajo presupuesto, nos organizamos para tomar fotos. Por un momento, fui a tomarme una foto con Catwoman en el stand de coleccionistas de Batman.

On the terrace, I also spent some time watching which cosplayers called me over to take their picture. As always, there were many who had been cosplaying for years, but also young people who were just starting out and doing their first cosplay.

Some were visitors from other states who traveled to the city to attend the convention. They all deserve praise, as they sometimes spend more than 12 hours in their costumes, including the time from when they put them on—some at home—until they finish and return home. Some costumes are very elaborate, with many layers of fabric, and the heat, combined with the hustle and bustle of taking photos and doing other things, is quite tiring.

On the first day, there was a cosplay presentation. Around sixty people participated, each performing in turns for about two minutes on stage. These presentations were evaluated by the judges. That day, there were six lucky winners who stood out with their cosplays, who received gifts from the sponsors, and the first-place winner received a cash prize. On the second day, there was a cosplay parade. It was more dynamic, but many cosplayers also participated. Afterward, they went to the photo area so that photographer Fran and the media could take their pictures. I took the opportunity to photograph some cosplayers I hadn't photographed before.

En la terraza, también pasé un rato observando qué cosplayers me llamaban para tomarles una foto. Como siempre, había muchos que llevaban varios años haciendo cosplay, pero también jóvenes que recién empezaban y hacían su primer cosplay.

Algunos eran visitantes de otros estados del país que viajaron a la ciudad para asistir a la exposición. Todos merecen felicitaciones, ya que a veces pasan más de 12 horas con sus disfraces, incluyendo el tiempo desde que se los ponen, algunos en sus casas, hasta que terminan y regresan a casa. Algunos disfraces son muy elaborados, con muchas capas de tela, y el calor, sumado al ajetreo de tomar fotos y hacer otras cosas, resulta bastante agotador.

El primer día hubo una presentación de cosplay. Participaron alrededor de sesenta personas, cada una de las cuales actuó por turnos durante unos dos minutos en el escenario. Estas presentaciones fueron evaluadas por el jurado. Ese día, hubo seis afortunados ganadores que destacaron con sus cosplays, quienes recibieron regalos de los patrocinadores, y el ganador del primer lugar recibió un premio en efectivo. El segundo día hubo un desfile de cosplay. Fue más dinámico, pero también participaron muchos cosplayers. Después, se dirigieron a la zona de fotografía para que la fotógrafa Fran y los medios les tomaran fotos. Aproveché la oportunidad para fotografiar a algunos cosplayers que aún no había fotografiado.

Both days also featured musical performances. On the first day, the band Un Toque de Shanel delighted the audience with their music. They were very talented. At that time, I didn't take many photos; I sat down to rest for a while because I was exhausted.

On the second day, the musical portion was provided by K-pop groups. About four groups took to the stage to delight us with the choreographies they had prepared.

After the K-pop performance, it was the turn of a group of young people who performed choreographies inspired by Michael Jackson, whose movie had premiered a few days earlier. These young people were dressed and danced in Michael Jackson's style. Their performance was excellent and enjoyed by both young people and adults. They are very talented.

They were two excellent days, and in this post, I'm sharing some photos of the cosplayers. I missed a few, but it was impossible to post them all.

Ambos días también contaron con presentaciones musicales. El primer día, la banda Un Toque de Shanel deleitó al público con su música. Eran muy talentosos. En ese momento, no tomé muchas fotos; me senté a descansar un rato porque estaba agotada.

El segundo día, la parte musical estuvo a cargo de grupos de K-pop. Unos cuatro grupos subieron al escenario para deleitarnos con las coreografías que habían preparado.

Después de la presentación de K-pop, fue el turno de un grupo de jóvenes que interpretaron coreografías de Michael Jackson, cuya película se había estrenado pocos días antes. Estos jóvenes iban vestidos y bailaban al estilo de Michael Jackson. Su presentación fue muy buena y gustó tanto a jóvenes como a adultos. Son muy talentosos.

Fueron dos días excelentes, y en esta publicación comparto algunas fotos de los cosplayers. Me faltaron algunas, pero era imposible publicarlas todas.
