Christmas and Dance in Shopping Centers

During this time of year, shopping malls in my city focus on presenting attractions to draw people in. It is essential to attract a flow of visitors so that the stores, many of which are rented, have the opportunity to make sales. That is part of the economic dynamics of a shopping mall. And the holidays are a time when people spend as if the world were ending, and you have to take advantage of that.
That's why I've seen a lot of activities in different shopping malls. For example, I visited Metropolis in Barquisimeto, and for two days in a row, there were dance activities on the main stage, although they were organized by two different associations.
Since I had some errands to run there on both days, I took the opportunity to watch part of the show and take some photos to share in this post. I enjoy watching these shows, which feature different dance academies and groups from the city. They are very eye-catching, and the dances are entertaining.
Durante esta época del año, los centros comerciales de mi ciudad se centran en presentar atracciones para atraer a la gente. Es esencial atraer a un flujo de usuarios que los visiten para que las tiendas, muchas de las cuales son alquiladas, tengan la oportunidad de realizar ventas. Eso forma parte de la dinámica económica de un centro comercial. Y las fiestas son una época en la que la gente gasta como si se acabara el mundo, y hay que aprovecharlo.
Por eso he visto muchas actividades en diferentes centros comerciales. Por ejemplo, visité el Metrópolis en Barquisimeto y, durante dos días seguidos, se realizaron actividades de baile en su escenario central, aunque fueron organizadas por dos asociaciones diferentes.
Como tenía algunos recados que hacer allí ambos días, aproveché la oportunidad para ver parte del espectáculo y tomar algunas fotos para compartir en esta publicación. Me gusta ver estos espectáculos en los que participan diferentes academias y grupos de baile de la ciudad. Son muy llamativos y los bailes son entretenidos.
There were many groups and academies participating in both activities, so the variety of genres was evident. From Creole music to urban rhythms, there was something for everyone. Most of the participants were young people from these dance academies, so the event was full of family members. This is where I wonder if this really has any effect. Just like at fashion shows, you see a lot of people, but it turns out they are the participants' family members. When I help out, it's so that people who aren't family members can see the talent and skills of the dance groups.
The first day I stayed to watch, I stood in a spot I found that was free, but next to me was a child, the brother of one of the dancers, who was very naughty, shouting, moving around, crying, and his family couldn't control him. I moved as far away as possible because his commotion was distracting me. I could only imagine what it would be like at home, a complete nightmare. Luckily, they weren't there the next day.
On the second day, I didn't stay long because I wasn't feeling very well, but I was able to see about four groups. There was one that danced with fabrics, which is quite interesting. I couldn't do it, I'd get dizzy and fall over. So I applaud that kind of skill. The performances were good, and I liked the choreography.
I'll continue to visit some community centers, and if I see any activities, I'll bring you a brief review.
En ambas actividades había muchos grupos y academias, por lo que la variedad de géneros era evidente. Desde música criolla hasta ritmos urbanos, había de todo. La mayoría eran jóvenes de esas academias de baile, por lo que estaba lleno de familiares. Aquí es donde me pregunto si esto realmente tiene algún efecto, al igual que en los desfiles de moda, se ve a mucha gente, pero resulta que son los familiares de los participantes. Cuando ayudo, es para que las personas que no son familiares puedan ver el talento y las habilidades de los grupos de baile.
El primer día que me quedé a ver, me paré en un lugar que encontré libre, pero a mi lado había un niño, el hermano de uno de los bailarines, que era muy travieso, gritaba, se movía, lloraba y su familia no podía controlarlo. Me alejé lo más posible porque me distraían con su alboroto. Solo podía imaginar cómo sería en casa, una completa pesadilla. Por suerte, al día siguiente no estaban allí.
El segundo día no me quedé mucho tiempo, no me encontraba muy bien, pero pude ver a unos cuatro grupos. Había uno que bailaba con telas, lo cual es bastante interesante. Yo no podría hacerlo, me marearía y me caería. Así que aplaudo este tipo de habilidad. Las actuaciones fueron buenas y me gustó la coreografía.
Seguiré visitando algunos centros comunitarios y, si veo alguna actividad, les traeré una breve reseña.

What a beautiful way to celebrate the holidays in shopping centres, even though it is true that businesses need to make sales, especially at this time of year, and that the holidays have become commercial, but the reality is that there is a need. But also that they have organised some beautiful and, as far as I can see, very varied dance shows, which attracts people to enjoy themselves as well as to buy.
The fact that the families of the groups were also there is also beautiful, as I say, a beautiful way of celebrating and being joyful even though the country is going through such bad times, even if it is a bit of joy. All those dance activities where there are choreographies are to be admired for the coordination, they are great.
