Manganest is another geek event in the city. It's a very small event, but so far there have been four editions and more and more entrepreneurs are joining in to participate in this mini bazaar. The idea is for geek entrepreneurs to participate with their products. T-shirts, figurines, collectibles. A good variety of products.
This activity has always been held at a sports field. It is an outdoor activity, although that part of the sports field is covered. It is called Campo Los Cardones, because it is located in the area where the urbanization is located, east of the city, near the Las Trinitarias shopping center.
Manganest es otro evento geek en la ciudad. Es un evento muy pequeño, pero hasta ahora se han celebrado cuatro ediciones y cada vez se suman más emprendedores para participar en este mini bazar. La idea es que los emprendedores geek participen con sus productos. Camisetas, figuras, coleccionables. Una buena variedad de productos.
Esta actividad siempre se ha celebrado en un campo deportivo. Es una actividad al aire libre, aunque esa parte del campo deportivo está cubierta. Se trata del Campo Los Cardones, porque está situado en la zona donde se encuentra la urbanización, al este de la ciudad, cerca del centro comercial Las Trinitarias.
In my city, I think people really like bazaars because they are organized constantly. Approximately 17 entrepreneurs participated in this edition of Manganest, including food vendors. The lady with her hot dog business sold quite a lot, as did a Japanese candy business. They left early because they had other commitments. The people from Bambu sold quite a few cocktails and iced coffee.
It all started at 10 a.m., but I arrived after 1 p.m. because I was busy with another activity in the morning. The weather was strange that day. Sometimes it rained and other times it was quite sunny. I took photos and stopped at each stall. Then I waited for more cosplayers to arrive and for the musical group that most people were waiting for to set up.
En mi ciudad, creo que a la gente le gustan mucho los bazares, porque se organizan constantemente. En esta edición de Manganest participaron aproximadamente 17 emprendedores, incluyendo vendedores de comida. La señora con su negocio de perritos calientes vendió bastante, al igual que un negocio de dulces japoneses. Se marcharon temprano porque tenían otros compromisos. La gente de Bambu vendió bastantes cócteles y café helado.
Todo empezó a las 10 de la mañana, pero yo llegué después de la 1 de la tarde porque estaba ocupado con otra actividad por la mañana. El tiempo era extraño ese día. A veces llovía y otras veces hacía bastante sol. Saqué fotos y me detuve en cada puesto. Luego esperé a que llegaran más cosplayers y a que se instalara el grupo musical que la mayoría de la gente estaba esperando.
Not many cosplayers attended. This type of event, held in an outdoor venue, does not seem to be very popular among more experienced cosplayers. The few who did attend participated in the cosplay parade organized by the event organizer. On this occasion, there was no jury, so after the parade, the director of Manganest uploaded the photos to social media and let the fans vote to choose the winner.
I saw some cosplayers from other events there, and others simply went to support without wearing costumes. They took photos and recorded videos for social media. There weren't many people, but the organizer told me that this time there was more support and attendance.
No asistieron muchos cosplayers. Este tipo de evento, que se celebra en un recinto al aire libre, parece no ser muy popular entre los cosplayers más experimentados. Los pocos que asistieron participaron en el desfile de cosplay preparado por el organizador. En esta ocasión no hubo jurado, por lo que, tras el desfile, el director de Manganest subió las fotos a las redes sociales y dejó que los seguidores votaran para elegir al ganador.
Algunos cosplayers de otros eventos los vi por alli, y otros simplemente fueron a apoyar sin llevar trajes. Tomaron fotos y grabaron vídeos para las redes sociales. No había mucha gente, pero el organizador me dijo que esta vez hubo más apoyo y asistencia.

The highlight was the performance by Yamete Kudasai, a rock band that covers songs from anime and video games. They call themselves a “geek band.” They have won over the geek audience and have already participated in several events across the country this year.
The performance was interrupted by rain, as they had set everything up in an open space and it started to rain. However, that didn't stop them from playing their songs and even extending their performance beyond the scheduled time, as the audience wanted to keep listening and asked for one more song.
I enjoyed the activity. I hope the event continues to grow and gain more support, publicity, and participation.

Lo más destacado fue la actuación de Yamete Kudasai, una banda de rock que versiona canciones de anime y videojuegos. Se autodenominan «banda friki». Se han ganado al público geek y este año ya han participado en varios eventos por todo el país.
La actuación se vio interrumpida por la lluvia, ya que habían montado todo en un espacio abierto y empezó a llover. Sin embargo, eso no les impidió tocar sus canciones e incluso prolongar su actuación más allá del tiempo previsto, ya que el público quería seguir escuchándolos y pidió una canción más.
Disfruté de la actividad. Espero que el evento siga creciendo y obtenga más apoyo, publicidad y participación.

Lo importante es que este tipo de actividades crezca cada vez más, me encantan los bazares, sobre todo allí vi uno que vendía anillos, en una época usaba muchos! Pero la fresa casera también es deliciosa. Pasar por los puestos y mirar que tiene cada uno me recuerda aquí a los mercadillos y en Argentina a los artesanos.
Bueno no asistieron muchos cosplayers pero verás que cada vez se suman más, se tiene que correr la voz! Que genial que pudiste ir ... bueno hasta que comenzó a llover. Abrazo JC.
La lluvia paso rápido, pero los chicos de la banda tuvieron que mover todo el sonido y se perdió tiempo.
A esta actividad van menos cosplayer, deben buscar otro lugar, especialmente accesible para la mayoría.

En la ciudad en la que vivía de vez en cuando hacían eventos, en algunos participé con cosplay hace mucho tiempo, ahora las fotos me dan un poco de vergüenza porque apenas estaba experimentando 😂

Attend one when you can. A Tomb Raider cosplay would be great for you.
