I perfectly remember Slam Dunk. It's an amazing anime, I also watched it when I was about 8 years old, every afternoon I religiously waited for it after watching Dragon Ball and Knights of the Zodiac.
Sakuragi was a mess but when out of nowhere they got the moves it was very top notch. Rukawa and Akagi but for Miyagi he was the best, a brutal set up man. I agree with you, everyone should watch this anime.

What a time those were when we waited every afternoon to watch these classic anime, which gave us so many hours of training in our childhood.
Sakuragi is very clumsy, but we must understand that he was a beginner in the sport. What hurt him the most was his way of being, very distracted and troublesome, but it was his way of being and also many liked him the way he was.
It is true, it is an anime that no one should miss.
