My Sketchbook Journal: My Dream on a Mountain Top

I am back with another entry for the SketchQuest drawing contest hosted by @quatro. This time I decided to try something a little different from my usual characters. Instead of a person, I drew a place I’ve been dreaming about lately which is living on top of a mountain in a small house, surrounded by green grass and tall trees.

I must admit, I am really sticking with this loose style on purpose. I used the same PenUp app and that one fountain pen brush that I like so much. I didn't use any reference photo for this as I was just thinking about a very calm, late afternoon where the clouds and the horizon turn into those beautiful pink and orange colors. I think the uneven lines from the brush help make the clouds look more fluffy and natural as well as creating rough shadows on the ground and grass.

It is unbelievably relaxing to just sit and draw what you are dreaming about and despite my shaky hands I think that fact adds to the hand-drawn feeling that I want. I prefer my art to look human, especially with so much AI art being shared nowadays. This is just a simple, calming picture of my dream home.
