Writing, Waiting, and Web3: My Hive Journey So Far
I first heard about Web3 in 2022. Honestly, I did not even know what it meant...A friend mentioned Hive and said, “You can earn money just by writing.” That one line stayed with me. I was like—wait, I already write in my diary... people get paid for this? So, I jumped in.
Hive was my first stop. I didn’t understand tokens or wallets or how anything worked. I just saw posts, and beside them, a little number in dollars. That was enough to hook me. I thought, “Maybe this is how I start earning.” Spoiler: it didn’t go as planned.
In the beginning, I wrote like crazy. Some days, I’d post twice. I shared poems, random life updates, even weird thoughts I had at 2 a.m. But most of those posts? Nothing. No upvotes, no comments. Just silence.
I started thinking, “Maybe this thing isn’t real. Maybe people fake these earnings. Maybe it’s only for the big accounts.” At one point, I even believed crypto might be a scam.
But something made me stay. Maybe curiosity. Maybe stubbornness.
Instead of posting, I started reading more. I followed a few people who seemed to “get” it. They didn’t just write for money—they wrote with meaning. They supported others, they showed up daily, they cared about the community. That’s when things started to click.
Web3, I realized, wasn’t about shortcuts. It was about consistency and value. Whether it is blogging, NFTS, DEFI, or anything else - it all comes down how much you are ready to stick and learn here. The more I found out, the more I saw how big this world is. Blogging was just the door. Behind it? Crypto trading, NFTs, DeFi, games, airdrops, mining, DAOs—I could go on forever. Every day, there’s something new. It’s exciting, but it can also fry your brain a bit.
Still, I kept going. Slowly, I started getting votes. A few comments. Then some followers. There is not much, but enough to remind me that I was not wasting time. The hive began to feel less like a platform and more like a place where I was.
What I love most about Hive is that it lets regular people show up and share. No need to be a coder or a whale. If you have a voice, that’s enough. That’s rare online these days.
There is a thing I wish I would know about all the things from the start. Don’t rush it. If you come in hoping to get rich overnight, you’ll probably leave disappointed. But if you come to grow, learn, and connect—you’ll stay. And if you stay, good things happen.
I am still learning every day. I don't know everything about Crypto or Web 3, and I will probably never. But I know I'll keep going. I have seen enough to believe that the future of this place is. If you are starting now, do not panic. There is no need to master all the things at once. Choose a part - perhaps hive, perhaps NFT, maybe something else - and take your time. Read, watch, listen. Be patient with yourself.
And if things feel slow or pointless sometimes, just remember—most of us felt that too in the beginning.
You’re not behind. You’re just getting started.
Wow, you had a very interesting hive journey. Nice entry
Shortcuts on web3 space will only land you trouble, instead of shortcuts, just stay consistent.
