The Holidays Expected Every Year.

Tell us about your favorites memories of your childhood summer vacations
Where did you usually go, with whom, what did you like doing most in those days?

A time-worn photo demonstrates how much I want to preserve one of the many memories in my heart. Every year, we asked my mom where we would go on vacation, even though we already knew the answer. The vacations were punctuated by a five-hour trip from our home to visit my dad's siblings, my uncles, in a mountainous place much cooler than our city.

Looking at this photo takes me back to those joyful days when we'd all travel as a family and spend five hours crammed into a van, asking, "Is it much longer, Mommy?" I didn't sleep during the trip; I just stared at the scenery as we traveled from home to our destination.

Until we arrived at the place and all the cousins were waiting for us to start playing, talking and making jokes.

I'm going to tell you the biggest joke they ever pulled: We knew a group of people had organized a trip to the beach, but we weren't allowed to go on it because my mom didn't like to let us out of their sight, and it was only for three days. But it turns out that two hours after the group's scheduled departure time, a rumor spread that the bus they were traveling on had been in an accident.

You can't imagine my mom's relief when she told us, "Thank God I didn't let you go." But the others were worried and went to the town hospital, only to be told there was no news about the accident. It wasn't until the person responsible for the prank said nothing had happened, that it had all been a joke, that they calmed down and went home. What a scare!

We also spent time on some land belonging to my father, where he had crops and cattle. They also had horses to move around the land to do the planting work. They had corn and pineapples. I remember those because they kept the corn in a room in the house, and the harvest reached up to the roof. There, I saw for the first time how pineapples grew, all neat and beautiful, with their flower-like cones.

Those were very joyful and happy days, and every year we looked forward to the next trip, even though we already knew where it was going. Each year was a different joke, haha. Lovely memories.

I'm so glad my chronicles are being saved on the blockchain. Thanks for this lovely idea.
