1️⃣ How long do you think you would last in a survivor-man type situation?
Humans are the only beings capable of surviving in extreme situations, as they are superior to any animal; they must use their skills and intelligence to their full potential.
I know the question is based on survival in inhospitable terrain, in a jungle where we can encounter ferocious animals and hostile conditions that, if you're not prepared, you wouldn't be able to endure even a week.
The difference between surviving in a concrete jungle and a natural jungle isn't much. In the concrete jungle, you also encounter people who look like ferocious animals, and you have to be careful not to be devoured.
In the jungle, you can last from a few days to several months, as has been demonstrated in cases of people who have been in plane crashes and have been left in natural forests; it all depends on the circumstances you're in. In the concrete jungle, you can last from days old to 100 years old or more, also depending on the circumstances.
I haven't experienced survival in the wild, but I hope to have the foresight to leave and tell the tale. So far, we Venezuelans have been surviving the hardships imposed by a government for 25 years, and we've been able to survive. Cubans have been dealing with and surviving a situation similar to ours for 60 years, and they're still fighting. And just like these two countries, there are others surviving their disasters, and I hope we'll end it soon and be able to tell the tale and celebrate.
In either case, we are driven by fear, but intelligence leads us to create the best strategy for survival.

La diferencia a sobrevivir en una selva de concreto a una selva natural no es mucha. En la selva de concreto también consigues personas semejantes a animales feroces y que tienes que tener cuidado que no te devoren.
En la jungla puedes durar desde unos días hasta varios meses como se ha demostrado en casos de personas que han tenido accidentes aéreos y que han quedado en selvas naturales, todo depende de las circunstancias en las que estés. En la jungla de concreto puedes durar desde días de nacida hasta 100 años de vida o más, también depende de las circunstancias.
Yo no he pasado por una sobrevivencia en la selva natural pero espero tener la astucia de poder salir del lugar y poder contarlo. Hasta ahora los Venezolanos tenemos 25 años sobreviviendo a las dificultades impuestas por un gobierno y hemos podido sobrevivir. Los Cubanos llevan 60 años lidiando y sobreviviendo a una situación semejante a la nuestra y todavía están peleando. Y así como estos dos países hay otros sobreviviendo a sus accidentes y espero que lo terminemos pronto y lo podamos contar y celebrar.
En cualquiera de las dos formas nos mueve el miedo, pero la inteligencia nos lleva a crear la mejor estrategia para sobrevivir.

I have never had to deal with a Survival situation yet. Camping may be the closest thing, Living in an Earthquake zone I have already made preparations for such an event but we will never know how we will handle the situation until it actually happens. How our plans will hold up. Dealing with serious injuries. Whether our Government responds with timely aide. And you made an important point about human behavior, what happens when essentials run out, and the government cannot provide enough timely aid?

You give some good pointers here and I think this question is what you make it.. NO need to just be survival in wilderness or dessert, it can be in every Day situations.
It can be War, it can be in nature catastrophe, poor, anything.
To survive is what you experience and sometimes we go through hard losses of love ones.. That can also be a survival mood.
I haven't been in the wild trying to survive but I do have stocked some things at home in case of emergency. We do what we can but we never really know what Will come.
You are a surviver from the hard ship of a goverment, that counts to. All countries deals with some dissasters, some more than others.
