At my house, we've always had a pool for special occasions, opening it and cooling off in it, since Maracaibo is very sunny and hot. Last Sunday, July 20th, was Children's Day, and we had planned to go to a plaza in the city we haven't been to yet, where I know the kids would have had a unique afternoon and evening.
Plan B was to buy a pool and spend it here at home, which is much more comfortable and without so many people around. We had asked my son to help us with the purchase, but he hadn't given us a response. On Saturday, he surprised us by sending $100 for the pool, and my daughter and daughter-in-law literally ran downtown and found this bargain. They haggled down the price from $170. It was a blessing!
In the first photo you can see the unpacking of the pool and its assembly. The excited children helped with everything and we got it filled, but it wasn't until the other day that it was filled with the help of a water tanker truck that was purchased since the water was already running out (we receive water 3 days a week).
It was the best purchase of the week and the best decision we could have made since it's much more comfortable to be at home. After coming home from church and eating our lunch, the children immersed themselves in their gift and spent the entire afternoon inside.

En mi casa siempre hemos tenido una piscina para ocasiones especiales abrirla y refrescarnos en ella ya que en Maracaibo hace mucho sol y calor. El pasado Domingo 20 de Julio fue la celebración del Día del Niño y habíamos planeado ir a una plaza en la ciudad que todavía no conocemos donde se que los niños habrían pasado una tarde-noche sin igual.
El plan B era poder comprar una piscina y pasarla aquí en la casa que es mucho mas cómodo y sin tanta gente al rededor. Le habíamos comentado a mi hijo para que nos ayudara en esa compra, pero no nos había dado una respuesta. Nos sorprendió el día Sábado enviando 100 dólares para la compra de la piscina y mi hija y mi nuera salieron literalmente corriendo al centro y consiguieron esta ganga. De 170 que le estaban ofreciendo por una consiguieron esta regateando el precio. Fue una bendición!!
En la primera foto pueden ver el desempaque de la piscina y su ensamblaje, los niños emocionados ayudaron en todo y la pusimos a llenar, pero no fue sino hasta el otro día que se lleno y con la ayuda de un camión cisterna que se compro ya que el agua ya se estaba yendo (recibimos agua 3 días de la semana).
Fue la mejor compra de la semana y fue la mejor decisión que pudimos haber hecho ya que es mucho mas cómodo estar en la casa. Luego de venir de la iglesia y tomar nuestro almuerzo los niños se sumergieron en su regalo y pasaron toda la tarde allí adentro.

I had a big pool a few years ago. Loads of fun but a lot of upkeep. With the smiles I see here, it looks well worth the effort and expense @isabelpena
