Friendlymoose Photo Contest New Round - Lake Maracaibo
Our lake is the largest in South America. It's not suitable for swimming, as it's 60 meters deep, so there's a risk of being swept away by one of those whirlpools that form in the water.
We extract oil from this lake, and there are platforms where it's extracted. It's also a busy route for oil tankers and commercial vessels.
Our lake is a tourist site where many foreigners come and are amazed by what they see.
The lake is currently contaminated by oil spills and water flowing from the city, so it lacks a wide variety of wildlife, although medium-sized dolphins and orcas have been spotted.
This lake is the perfect meeting point for strolling, relaxing, and enjoying a Sunday with the family.
This is my entry to my friend @friendlemoose's photo contest where he's looking for a lake or river.
