Hello dear #ShadowHunters community,

Gardens have always seemed beautiful to me. Sometimes I even think that if I were not a doctor, perhaps one of the professions I would enjoy the most would be gardening.

There is something deeply calming about gardens. They transform spaces, soften the environment and create small corners where nature quietly takes its place among buildings, paths and people passing by.

For a long time, when I imagined a garden, the first image that appeared in my mind was always the same: flowers. Colorful flowers of different shapes filling the space with life.

But with time I have realized that gardens are much more than that.

Not every plant in a garden exists to produce flowers. Many contribute to the beauty of the place in other ways: through their shapes, their leaves, their height, or even the shadows they create when the sunlight reaches them.

A good example of this are the plants belonging to the palm and coconut family.

These plants are very commonly used in gardens and outdoor areas. Their tall trunks and long leaves give the place a tropical and elegant appearance, making the space feel more open and pleasant.

However, their beauty is not limited only to the plant itself.

When sunlight passes through their long leaves, something interesting happens. The leaves filter the light and project delicate shadows onto the ground, nearby walls or sidewalks. These shadows create natural patterns that seem almost like drawings made by nature itself.

Sometimes the wind moves the leaves slightly, and the shadows move as well, slowly changing their shapes.

It is a simple scene, but also a beautiful one.

While observing them, I thought about how often we walk through gardens paying attention only to the flowers, while many other details quietly go unnoticed.

Yet even shadows can be part of the beauty of a garden.

They add movement, texture and contrast to the space. They remind us that light itself can collaborate with nature to create small visual moments worth appreciating.

In this case, I wanted to share some of those shadows created by these plants. They may seem simple at first glance, but they show how even the leaves of a palm can transform sunlight into small pieces of art on the ground.

Sombras del jardín

Hola querida comunidad de #ShadowHunters,

Los jardines siempre me han parecido hermosos. A veces incluso pienso que si no fuera doctora, quizás una de las profesiones que me gustaría ejercer sería la jardinería.

Hay algo muy especial en los jardines. Tienen la capacidad de transformar los espacios, de suavizar el ambiente y de crear pequeños rincones donde la naturaleza encuentra su lugar entre edificios, caminos y personas que pasan cada día.

Durante mucho tiempo, cuando pensaba en un jardín, la primera imagen que venía a mi mente eran las flores. Flores de diferentes colores llenando el espacio de vida.

Pero con el tiempo he comprendido que los jardines son mucho más que eso.

No todas las plantas que forman parte de un jardín están ahí para dar flores. Muchas aportan belleza de otras maneras: por la forma de sus hojas, por su altura, por su estructura o incluso por las sombras que proyectan cuando reciben la luz del sol.

Un buen ejemplo de esto son las plantas pertenecientes a la familia de las palmas y los cocoteros.

Estas plantas se utilizan mucho en jardines y áreas exteriores. Sus troncos altos y sus hojas largas crean una sensación tropical que hace que el lugar se vea más abierto y agradable.

Sin embargo, su belleza no está solamente en la planta en sí.

Cuando la luz del sol atraviesa sus hojas largas ocurre algo interesante. Las hojas filtran la luz y proyectan sombras delicadas sobre el suelo, las paredes cercanas o las aceras. Esas sombras crean patrones naturales que parecen casi dibujos hechos por la propia naturaleza.

A veces el viento mueve ligeramente las hojas y entonces las sombras también se mueven, cambiando lentamente de forma.

Es una escena sencilla, pero también muy hermosa.

Mientras las observaba pensé en cuántas veces caminamos por un jardín prestando atención solo a las flores, mientras muchos otros detalles pasan desapercibidos.

Sin embargo, incluso las sombras pueden formar parte de la belleza de un jardín.

Añaden movimiento, textura y contraste al espacio. Nos recuerdan que la propia luz puede colaborar con la naturaleza para crear pequeños momentos visuales que vale la pena apreciar.

En esta ocasión quise compartir algunas de esas sombras creadas por estas plantas. A simple vista pueden parecer algo sencillo, pero muestran cómo incluso las hojas de una palma pueden transformar la luz del sol en pequeños dibujos sobre el suelo.
