Hay preguntas que parecen enormes, casi imposibles de abarcar. “Rediseñar el mundo” suena a tarea de arquitectos del universo, de líderes poderosos o de soñadores extremos. Pero cuando la palabra clave es pequeña, todo cambia. Porque lo pequeño es lo que realmente sostenemos cada día.

Si pudieras rediseñar el mundo de una pequeña manera, ¿qué cambiarías?

No cambiaría los continentes de lugar.
No borraría fronteras con un gesto mágico.
No reinventaría la tecnología.

Cambiaría algo más simple: la manera en que nos escuchamos.

Rediseñaría el mundo para que escuchar fuera más importante que responder.
Vivimos esperando nuestro turno para hablar. Muchas veces no oímos para comprender, sino para defendernos, para corregir, para imponer. Imagino un mundo donde, antes de reaccionar, exista una pausa sincera.

Donde mirar a los ojos no sea un acto raro. Donde una persona pueda contar su dolor sin sentir que compite con el dolor de otros.

Si algo pequeño pudiera modificarse, sería esa prisa constante por tener la razón.
Creo que muchos conflictos, familiares, sociales, incluso internacionales, no nacen solo de diferencias profundas, sino de la incapacidad de escuchar sin levantar muros. Si el mundo aprendiera a escuchar de verdad, con humildad, muchas heridas no se abrirían, o sanarían más rápido.

No parece un cambio gigante. Pero sería revolucionario.

¿De qué simple alegría crees que el mundo necesita más?

De la amabilidad espontánea.
Esa que no se publica, que no se graba y que no espera recompensa.

El mundo necesita más sonrisas que no estén condicionadas. Más gestos pequeños que no busquen aplauso. Ceder el paso. Preguntar “¿estás bien?” y realmente esperar la respuesta. Agradecer con intención.
A veces creemos que la felicidad está en grandes logros, pero hay una alegría silenciosa que sostiene los días difíciles: la sensación de que no estamos solos en medio del caos.

Pienso en lo diferente que sería todo si la cortesía no fuera vista como debilidad, sino como fortaleza. Si la ternura no fuera confundida con fragilidad. Si tratar bien a otros fuera lo normal y no la excepción.

No hablo de ingenuidad. Hablo de humanidad.
Porque una palabra amable puede cambiar el tono completo de un día. Y muchos días buenos juntos pueden cambiar una vida.

A veces queremos transformar el mundo con gestos grandiosos, pero olvidamos que el diseño real ocurre en lo cotidiano. En cómo hablamos. En cómo miramos. En cómo elegimos reaccionar.

Tal vez no podamos rediseñar el planeta entero.
Pero sí podemos rediseñar nuestra forma de estar en él.
Y quizá ahí empieza todo.

If you could redesign the world in one small way, what would you change?

I wouldn’t move continents around.
I wouldn’t erase borders with a magical gesture.
I wouldn’t reinvent technology.

I would change something simpler: the way we listen to each other.

I would redesign the world so that listening became more important than responding.
We live waiting for our turn to speak. Many times we don’t listen to understand, but to defend ourselves, to correct, to impose. I imagine a world where, before reacting, there is a sincere pause.

Where looking into someone’s eyes is not a rare act. Where a person can share their pain without feeling that it competes with someone else’s pain.

If one small thing could be modified, it would be that constant rush to be right.
I believe many conflicts—family, social, even international—are not born only from deep differences, but from the inability to listen without building walls. If the world truly learned to listen, with humility, many wounds would not open… or they would heal faster.
It doesn’t seem like a giant change. But it would be revolutionary.
